Suggestion: "Request Manual Review" Flag on Report

It's a pretty consistent complaint lately that automated system Riot has in place catches text based offenses, but is unable to catch other forms of trolling. Sometimes trolling that is obvious to an informed observer is simply difficult for a program to identify, the 500 troll video going around being a prime example of this. However, we all know that Riot can't review every report that comes in. They simply do not have the manpower to do so.

What Riot might have the manpower to do however is add a flag to the report menu to "Request Manual Review." Players could tick this box if they want a Riot employee to manually review the report.

Of course, one issue that could arise is that everyone would simply tick that box for every report. To combat that, Riot would need to add two features.

  1. The Player would need to provide a detailed account of what happened, 500 character minimum.
  2. The Player would need to pay some amount of IP, that would be refunded if the report results in a penalty, or forfeited if not.

By applying these measures, Riot would be able to weed out fake reports as well as reports that players believe can be caught by the automated system, allowing Riot to focus on the cases that actually require manual review. This system could even be combined with the Tribunal as another level to further reduce the resource impact on Riot.

I think the big question when it comes to something like this: Does Riot have the manpower to go through all of these flagged Reports? What if they don't, and they fall behind?

Admittedly I wasn't expecting something so well worded. I completely expected to come in and see just a basis and question "Wouldn't everyone just tick it?" Well done. Now I may tweak the character amount, because sometimes it is hard to find the right words and we really don't want to see "They fed and fed and fed and fed... 10 kills in 6 minutes building only something." I like the ip suggestion since it basically sits around uselessly at one point and the combining it with some sort of player review before a Riot member needs to look at it.

Depending on the cost what if some people dont have the ip available? and do all the non "ticked" reports just be thrown out as fake? Chill idea although i'd probably never use it. im not gonna write almost 5 paragraphs for just one person. Like multiple reports in a day or even in a game is actually tilting to think about.summoner 3 and for this I guess as what panda said, would need tweaking.

Unfortunately they wouldn't be able to give you your ip back because they do not promote telling you what happens to the people you report.
