Sick of being flamed by other players for picking champions designed to jungle in the jungle role

So many games start out with toxic players because I pick either Kindred or Shyvana which are my two main champions. "I want a tanky Jungle" ok I pick Shyvana but that doesn't make them happy either because as everyone knows pre 6, Shyvana typically has very little map presence except sometimes as counter jungler. Both these champions I have watched challenger play and know their ganking patterns. Both these champs have master level players that main them in the current meta. As well as every other ELO. And yet any game that a laner does bad in they instantly blame me and I know that the jungler's always get blamed (or supports) so much that it's a meme, but seriously riot this happens so much, like 70% of my games it feels like. It's getting to the point where someone bad mouths one of the champions I play it is very hard to not be triggered and say something back. I feel like I have to run a verbal gauntlet just to play champions you designed to be viable in the jungle, and that are.

Some champions even have recommended item sets for jungle if you have smite as one of the spells. Garen and Taric are two that I noticed in the past and have run personally; and they have similar patience to 6 styles as well. I feel the struggle. Players will play and expect others to play how they know. Nothing to be done about it except to just play to what you know your strength is. If they can't play it safe or look for a reason to flame you because of it, that's their own fault.

Short Answer: Mute them, and if its really a problem, report them.

Long Answer: Outside of the highest tiers (Masters, Challenger, and Professional play), champion choice matters little. As tier goes down to gold, silver, and bronze, champion choice matters even less (See Kshaway's very serious videos for reference). The fact of the matter is this: If your champion choice were hurting your winrate, your MMR would reflect that. You are matched up against players who share your champion/skill combination.

There was a recent discussion going on about how perception of the champion has more impact than actual stats. They were citing an instance where Riot claimed to have nerfed/buffed a champion, but by mistake the files weren't included in the patch. Despite this, the champion's winrate actually decreased or "felt better to play" respectively.

In conclusion, if you can make a reasonable argument that your champion is appropriate in the position you are playing, go ahead and play it

/mute all and play. If you feel Shyvanna or Kindred is the right pick for the team comp then you play the pick, but at the end of the day remember it is a team game and sometimes you do have to play an alternative if the champion you want isn't what's right for the team. Kindred really isn't in a good spot right now and high pressure junglers do have the better advantage.
