Dodge Penalty Because I'm Unable To Select Champions

Several times recently I've been going into champ select and am unable to pick a champion because they don't show up. Then the game decides "You didn't pick a champion because you can't? Have a dodge penalty." I'm getting tired of this shitty client bugging out and giving me penalties because of it. Fix your champ select so it prioritizes champions 1st when it loads up so this shit stops happening. Here's a screen shots I've taken in the past about this crap, May 10th to be exact. https://i.gyazo.com/1355cbecf84b7f953626d654a2384281.png As you can see, the timer is way past where they should have loaded in, and everyone else in the room already has their champions picked. But I'm unable to pick a champion because they don't show up. Fix your game and stop penalizing me for your mistakes with this client's coding. Prioritize the system's champion code when it loads the game in so it doesn't skip over it like this.

And yes this does belong in "Player Behavior" because this is where I was forced to the last time I posted about this. So don't send me to "Report A Bug".

Can't help you with your penalty, but it looks like you may need to reinstall the client.

Pretty sure this is a bug too, i've gotten this sometimes. I guess maybe they wanted you to post it in both sub-forums since it affects both?

Remember the bug a few months back that having too many friends would lag your client... yea that was shitty

While I can't assist with the penalty, and it probably will not be edited (sadly, even though you seem to be in the right), I can offer some help on preventing this issue in the future.

There is a (I presume) known (?) bug in the new client where the free week champs will not automatically change. This leads to the old free week champs still showing up but being non-selectable, or in some cases no champs showing up at all. The way to mitigate this is to have enough owned champs to cover the possibility that none of the free ones are the same (so you can select a champ at least). Alternatively, get notified when free rotation happens, and restart the client at that time.
When a bug like this happens, ensure you immediately cease ranked/normal/featured play until you are confident it is fixed. Even if the bug is Riot's fault, you are wasting others' time if you continue to queue before being satisfied it will not reoccur. The way to test games without incurring penalties is in custom games. They can be with your friends, with random people, etc. as long as the people you are playing customs with understand you are testing a bug and you may not be able to get into the game.
Report bugs like this to Riot through a support ticket. Include as much information here so that Riot can hopefully fix this in an upcoming patch (or inform you of steps to fix it). There's no guarantee they'll be able to figure out what's wrong, but it's worth a shot.
If all else fails and this doesn't stop, navigate to your "Riot Games/League Of Legends/Config" folder and delete the game.cfg file while the client is closed. The next time the client opens it'll pull down all your settings from the cloud, so nothing will appear to have changed. However, the file may still have been corrupted and causing something to go haywire.
