All the examples you listed could all be 100% valid picks.

No gold gen is never "valid" on a support. No SS can be situationally. Full giant belt spam Ahri is very a viable option. Neither is them doing it every single game and doing it in ranked. Zed/Talon were the guys that then went to take our top and mid lane picks because the jungle asked them to not troll.
