Silver 5 is honestly worse than bronze

Hopefully this is in the right sub-forum... The amount of sheer stupidity I'm encountering is incredible. I don't know why this is, but since I got promoted to Silver I played 3 games and in each of them we had either a.) a troll b.) an intentional feeder c.) someone who is so clueless it's infuriating.

I know I need to play better, be positive, carry harder, ward more, etc. but man... today is just not my day for League

[zombie-brand-facepalm]

wish me luck getting out of this nightmare... ugh. Does anyone have specific tips for getting out of low Silver?

Silver 5 thru 3 is just slightly shinier bronze.

I got out of Bronze for the first time in Season 6 after about 4 months of trying. I been trying to get to Gold since then, which is about roughly three years I been trying. Haven't figured it out yet. Silver really is far worse than Bronze. So my tip is, accept it. I've tried everything I could think of to get out of Silver. Nothing worked.

Not saying it's impossible. I'm saying it is impossible for some people no matter how hard they try. You have to be really really good to get out of Silver. Most of us will simply, never be that good.

Silver in general is pretty bad. You get the people who are playing their first ranked games, and should actually be in bronze, you get the smurfs who should be in plat or higher, and you get actual silver players. And you have no idea which you're going to get on your team, and which the enemy team is going to be.

Best suggestions I can give for getting out of Silver:

  1. Most important, find someone who you feel good about playing with. Ideally should be a generally positive person who doesn't feed a lot, and works better if in voice chat with them. You gotta abuse the fact that it's Solo/Duo, not just Solo. If you have at least one other person you can rely on, that will help you a lot.

  2. Find one role you like and focus on 2-3 champs for that role. I played all over the map when I was trying to climb, and I never really climbed until I stuck with one role specifically. However, you need to be able to play at least a couple champs in each role competently in case you're filled. Best to just pick easy champs for the other roles

  3. Focus on your CS. Remember, somewhere around 17-18 CS (I think) is the same as a kill,

  4. Check out your match while it's loading on na.op.gg or porofessor.gg It's good to know whether your opponents are one tricks, and who is likely to feed or get ahead so you can play around them.

  5. If you get tilted, STOP PLAYING. If you get tilted by a loss, do not go into another game until you've had time to cool off. Every time I go in tilted, I come out -20 lp.

Good luck.

Silver - Gold is a tough situation. For this season at least. I've been always Gold I - Plat II but ultimately ending up back in Gold in general.

This season, Silver is in a league of its own. I've never been as low as Silver III, but I know it's not a fun place to be in. I always kept to the roles that I know best, that is between Support and Mid. So really, you have to stick with your best roles. Roles you know you can keep up in or perform well enough to carry the team.

Keep the mood mutual with your team you are put in. That means if someone is toxic, test the water and keep a positive mindset and make some shot calls. If the team is against it, then follow your enemies, exploit their weakest link, or help the most fed member of your team. Hit objectives and keep the farm up high if you're mid, top, adc, or jungle. Leave the farm for your carries if you're a support. You don't want to take farm because that normally sets a very bad influence for anyone who is trying to catch up. It will encourage them to work with the team. (most of the time)

Just hope for the best and push to win. As you climb, it gets tougher. Naturally.

Iron is going to be the most complained tier next year. This is going to be weird for me because for the past 9 years of tiers that is beneath my average tier and going to be 1 more lower tier. Bronze is going to be the new silver.

Silver 5 in late season aren't notably different from bronze in skills, but feel more egotistical.

At this stage, games are won and lost by two things, firstly by whoever makes more stupid 'play's than the other team, and who has teamwork breakdown through raging first.

so, to rise, DONT INDUCE RAGE. Mute freely if you need to. But don't provoke the morons, no matter how agressive or stupid, this is actually a way to win games at this level.

Your skills are low, trying to play high skillcap champs will keep you at this level for years. Most gold players are just silvers who learned to keep their mouths shut, stop playing Zed/Ryze/Nidalee, and play tight. You don't have to play that smart to get to gold, you just have to learn how to lose lane gracefully when you're losing, play safely, not spam ff votes just because you're behind, not rage or troll, and try to take objectives when you can (oh, and play a couple of hundred ranked games).

Gold players are much more conservative than silver ones, they are much less likely to crazy engage, or pick a bad fight. Also much less likely to start a 4v5 or a 3v4.

It's because NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO. As long as you never placed in a rank for idk how many seasons you will be auto silver 2-4. So with technicality S2-5 are worse then any bronze tier, because you get fresh level 30s that do not know what to do going into Ranked. I remember people used to give advice play a couple hundred Normal games before you even think of playing Ranked way back when there was a super bad elo hell. But from what I am seeing once you get out of Bronze 1 to Silver 5 there are just people there to kick you back down into the hole.
