When will AFK players be taken more seriously?

Title. This happens more often than I imagine it should. Seems to happen more often on my own team, and I'm not talking about a quick DC with a re-connect. That's whatever, it's just an internet thing. I'm talking about people who blatantly leave a match because they're trolling or "have to go do stuff". There is NO excuse to leave a match unless it's a true emergency, not an "emergency" or because "your ride is here". People know how long matches last, don't join one if you can't commit to it. They know they can just AFK without fear of punishment. I've had many ranked matches ruined because of this behavior. Does anyone actually get punished for this crap? Gets tiring and old.

People who don't care/play for fun are in bronze/silver so just report them and ask your entire team/enemy team to report that person in the end.

Why ask for reports. 1 report is the same as 9.

Also, that is just your opinion as far as the ranking is concerned.

Not in my experience you need 6 people atleast to get that person banned/checked out.

That does not make it a fact, sadly. Before the IFS multiple reports would probably matter more, now it can be considered harassment depending on how you do it.

"Report Teemo for being the devil" -okay

"Report Teemo cause he is bad at LoL." - Not so okay.

The amount of games is considered as report begin building up the case.

That's not true at all. Reports simply flag a game for review, and only one report is needed for that. Any additional reports have no extra value. They do not make the system look any harder or faster for punishable behavior, nor do they increase the likelihood of the account actually being punished. This has been stated by Riot several times.

Multiple reports do NOT increase the likelihood of flagging a game for review. One report is all it takes. There is no benefit to asking for others to report a player.

Riot has made reports work this way specifically so that premade groups do not have any extra power over solo players when it comes to reporting, and so that solo players can still have their reports matter when being matched with premade groups.

Riot has made reports work this way specifically so that premade groups do not have any extra power over solo players when it comes to reporting, and so that solo players can still have their reports matter when being matched with premade groups.

Then who knows how it really works cause i'm seeing something different.

In your experience? What experience do you have in dealing with reports and punishing people? Are you a riot employee? You know when someone gets 6 reports and gets punished? But you also know when only 5 people reported them and they didn't get punished? What is your logic behind this statement?

... i listen to my buddies say they report and nothing happens so i sometimes report/the entire team does and we get that person banned so i said ''then you need to have the entire team to report this person? ok then'' although i do remember the only one reporting and it did get checked out so nevermind.

They do have Leaverbuster but admittedly that can take time for the effect to occur. You have to consistently be leaving/declining/not accepting/afk to trigger it. This is because they don't want to necessarily penalize the people who have emergencies or occasional internet problems.

Not sure if it still does or not, but I think it gives a warning if you are getting near triggering it.
