False Reporting

I'm curious how Riot filters reports to make sure they are valid. Over the last week or two I have had on 3 separate occasions other players threaten to report me when it was not valid. Their accusations were of Trolling 2 times and Toxic once. Since I have no way of knowing if they actually followed through on their threats how will I know if Riot getting ready to ban my account for things that didn't even happen.

I actually reported 2 of those players for being Toxic themselves, and muted the most recent very early, but if players can report me for not doing exactly what they want the way they want me too, how do I avoid getting -ed?
