Low elo is pretty much helpless (including me)
I want to share with you guys this interesting ranked game that I've played about three months ago, in which I lost horribly because of a pretty tilting reason, but come to think of it, it's actually pretty hilarious at the same time.
This is a Silver III-IV game, and I have locked in Rakan for this match because of the small recent success playing him. But here's where the problem started: I was originally settled with Jungle in the queue, and I thought about playing my rank 7 Master Yi, and so I hovered it. I was about to lock it in until this guy, who was probably autofilled to support, told me that he wanted to switch roles with me, and so I accepted. He was also planning on playing Yi, and so I trusted him that he won't int this game(although I hardly ever see a good Yi in this elo lol). When the game is loading I was hoping to see at least a rank 4 mastery icon on the Yi, but there was nothing. I was slightly disappointed to see this yet I was not too worried.
As we started the game me and Kaisa had a bit of an 'oopsie' and fed Braum a double kill about 4 minutes in. Kaisa was casually poking the Tris and Braum until I realized she was trying to go for the kill. Obviously, I reacted too late to this and didn't nail the combos properly, but thankfully Tris didn't get any of the kills. Kaisa was definitely frustrated but at the end, we both laughed it off and moved on from it. The Yi, however, was silent. As you would probably know Tristana is known to always push the lane while trying to cs due to her passive, and we are constantly being pushed just slightly out of "our tower" range. This is the perfect spot for a gank. Kaisa asked Yi to gank but he said nothing. She then told Yi that the minion wave is always getting pushed to our side, but he was still silent. Now most of us can probably notice that Yi was a bit pissed off because we fed the double kill, but the lane was far from over since the enemy bot lane hasn't even backed yet. I joined in with Kaisa's persuasion for Yi to gank but all he did was to ignore it, which angered Kaisa. She started spam pinging him to come which made him reply finally, but this isn't the answer that I needed.
"No point ganking a losing lane"
Now I was just like "wtf is wrong with this guy?". Kaisa and I told him that they didn't get their items yet, but he simply continued to ignore. Ultimately I gave up on the 'gank persuasion' and thought that perhaps he can get the other two lanes ahead since that would be pretty good too. Kaisa was probably tilted off the face of the earth at the moment, but fortunately, she was a pretty decent player and just farmed. She was typing in all caps saying "LANE IS STILL PUSHING" over and over but Yi seems to be pretty deaf. Oh boy...
As I was expecting, Yi went to Top lane to gank the enemy Nasus. About 5 seconds later I heard the caster say "An ally has been slain" with a Master Yi icon on it. I was getting pretty frustrated with this guy but managed to stop my urge from typing. As he respawns he goes top again, only to find himself dead for the second time. He gives up on ganking Top after feeding the Nasus two kills and goes Mid to gank the Lissandra, and guess what, HE'S DEAD AGAIN! Despite all those deaths he could not step out of his massive ego and apologize, or just gank bot to get some kills, and all he said was "No point ganking a losing lane".
This game became a pretty hard stomp by the enemy team since we basically do not have a jungler, and at the 20 min mark we lost the game. Honestly none of us deserved this loss, it all started with the enemy double kill, then the Yi refusing to gank our lane which would've gotten us ahead.
I want to touch on Yi's perception on the game: I am 100% sure he watched some "high elo" players e.g Foxdrop or Redmercy on tips to play as a jungler and one of the tips was to 'not gank a losing lane'. Trust me, I've seen this tip as well and there's nothing wrong with it **until it is heard by a boosted ass silver 5 jungler who doesn't even know what a losing lane looks like. **
I realized from that day the most low elo players are helpless. The tips they receive is somehow twisted in their minds and they think what they do is right. The sad truth is maybe we will have to climb out of it by ourselves, and hopefully one day something will click and we can get out.
