Does anyone not get bitched at every game for maining something offmeta?
I main yi top. I get the response of "youre playing yi top" every game. Anyone else seem to get this much whining?

I think the correct response to "youre playing yi top" is "Yes.".
You've got a 60% win rate with him according to your op.gg page, so just deflect and diffuse by mentioning that. "Trust me, I have 60% win rate" or "Check my op.gg, I main this" should do the trick.
I sometimes get it when I J4 top and while he isn't meta right now, it's not like I'm playing Janna up there.
Some dude outright banned a champ I wanted to play. Never gonna make that mistake again of showing offmeta support in champ select before actually picking it.
Newsflash: People like to win
with your 1.78 kda people will complain about it even with your 60% win rate through 113 games. It's harder to build a team comp to conform to that and it could make other people play off meta champs or champs that they are not as familiar with to make a good team comp.
I play off meta damage supprt and get it all the time. Never mind we almost always win bot lane. Never mind I often carry and top damage meters.
If you play any of these champions, then yes 
I main support and sometimes pick Kayle, but randoms don't usually say anything about it. /shrug
