Does Riot remove your Ranked placing if you ask them?

I've been so happy since I've been relieved of this game for almost ten days now but maybe as a result of too much commitment, some part of me is deeply afraid to just let my Ranked placing decay.

If you send a request to Riot, can they just remove you from it? As in if you were considering to ever come back, you would have to do the placements again and have your MMR sliced in half as consequence.

I don't think they'll do that as it would screw up the matchmaking pretty hard. Suddenly a diamond player would be playing with silvers because he lost half of his mmr through the reset

Decay is only a worry if you're at Plat or higher. You are however if you consider that your placements on their own never get you past gold (then it's averaged with your old MMR) it really won't make a difference if you get a rank placement reset or not

Afaik they will not. However, decaying in elo does not effect your mmr, so when you come back you should be gaining like, 27-30 lp per win, and will quickly jump back up into diamond range

Unless you are in Plat5+, your Ranked status will not decay.

If you are Plat5+ and your rank will decay, your MMR will not, so it will make it easier for you to climb back up to your desired rank.

I do not believe they will remove your ranked placement - your ranked decay does not necessarily mean your MMR will decay, and I'm 95% sure that there isn't a single person at Riot that can edit an account's hidden MMR. It basically sounds like that's what your asking - for them to just decrease your MMR so you won't be against super good players when you return.

Regardless, I am less sure but still over 50% sure that they neither will nor can edit or remove your rank - the most they may be able to do would be to revert rank/MMR to a backed up point (they would only do this in case of a hack/compromise, however, and I am still not sure they can even do that).
