🔒 Is flaming the enemy team a bannable offense?

I tend to flame the enemy team alot. However i have tried to stop myself from flaming my own teammates since they aren't my enemy. Why do I do this?

To ruin their concentration.

When your opponent is pissed he will react alot better but he will also tunnel vision very hard. I pick absolutely nothing but champions that can destroy any of my opponents. So in other words by pissing them off i make them go overly aggressive into fights they cant win while having free roams to top for my team.

So is flaming my enemies a bannable offense? I understand that i have flamed in the 3 game chat logs that you sent me but it was few and far inbetween and nothing close to what i do to my opponents. Since i dont know if i can give out the chat info in this block of text ill put the text of everything that went to my teamates in the text box below.

I mean... a hostage negotiator is technically a skilled job. Its kinda like what sky williams does but alot more effective. Rather then trying to untilt my team (good luck) i try to actively tilt the enemy team by getting them all pissed at me(actually possible). This especially helps if you are the tank as you get a passive taunt that cant be dispelled.

You're still intentionally aggravating and insulting other players. The opponents are still players.

That's too bad, because you're still expected to be civil. Even to your opponents. It's easier to be naturally civil if you care about how others feel, but the punishments are there to encourage you if you don't.

If you know that a certain behavior will remove your account from your control, you are going to be less likely to show that behavior.

Risk of punishment is a form of discouragement.

If you value your account

Tyler didn't value his accounts much. He continued to act the way he did because it drew in people that wanted to see an asshole play. So Riot targeted the player, making it so if he streamed himself playing league the account would get banned quickly.

So now he doesn't stream himself playing league anymore.

what everybody wants is to have fun, win or lose. what you are trying to do is to remove the other team's fun, and as consequence steal a win from them.

I dont care about their feelings since im never going to play with them again.

Ok sure you're "playing the game". But you're being a scumbag while you're at it. You're not a racist. you're not a bigot. You're just a plain A-hole. And you chose to be an A-hole. It's a strategy. It's not you being abrasive or you having some banter with the other team, it's you attempting to make the game less fun for other people.

So i think, it's ok for the player behavior team to tell you, go be an a-hole somewhere else. i'd get behind that notion.

Game 1: you left out the part where you belittled Graves Game 2:A large quantity of your chat is negative in this game. Mostly, your giving up and your harassment of other players after receiving good feedback. Game 3: You're kidding right? Did you forget all the times you used hate speech? This game alone is more than enough to get you an escalated punishment.

To your original question: We have /all chat for a reason. There's nothing wrong with some friendly back and forth, but you took it to a different level, especially with calling the enemy homophobic slurs in game 3. I'd even consider this over the line:

Game 2 was a very toxic game where the allied team spent half the fucking game belittleing me after flameing me hard in champ select since you cant be reported for champ select for some reason.

Game 3 I'm not a fucking liberal college kid and am actually gay+ live in a city with 11 gangs so the slurs mean absolutely nothing to me. I was calling the enemy %%% in allied chat rather then all chat kinda ruining the idea of hate speech. Ive heard the "n-word" (god i hate that phrase) so many times in my city that it has officially lost all meaning.

I used the former to explain why i dont actually mean cruel things to the black or gay community when i use the "slurs."

using slurs to insult a person rather then a group isnt hate speech its being a dick. You however are actually using hate speech by criticizing my use of the words. Riot disagrees. You're allowed to not agree with them, but you will still have to play by their rules or face their punishments, as they ARE allowed to restrict certain forms of speech on a platform they own and operate.

All of the above is definitely toxic. And no, you are NOT allowed to flame ANYONE, regardless of what team they are on, and regardless of the circumstances around your behavior and/or you feeling it's justified by "trying to throw off their concentration."

Then we get to this part.

This is 100% unacceptable to Riot under EVERY circumstance possible. It's almost assured to escalate you immediately to a 14-day ban, and sometimes to an immediate PERMANENT ban. Riot considers it derogatory language and hate speech, and bans it mercilessly.

This was an oversight as i needed to provide context Trust me there is certain areas where i flamed my team but it was mostly game two which it was just a very toxic game on every player. Context matters here.

I considered the context provided. The thing is that you are judged for you OWN behavior. There is always the option to simply ignore them, mute them, or respond in a non-toxic fashion. If you engage in toxicity in response to toxicity, you are still culpable. Ultimately, the only context that matters is that you typed toxic things into team chat.

Believe me -- many of us deal with toxic players on a not irregular basis. But not all of us receive punishment, because not everyone responds to toxicity by being toxic in retaliation. You are NEVER permitted to be toxic to another player, even if they started it.

Further, this doesn't even BEGIN to excuse the use of derogatory language and hate speech, which is 100% punishable by itself, even if you hadn't said ANYTHING else.

Riot does not consider flaming acceptable in ANY context. No matter who it's against (including yourself, actually), no matter which team they're on, no matter whether they started it, no matter if it's to insult them or to just "be funny" or to "throw off their concentration."

It is NOT allowed.

You can tilt your enemy through all-chat and stay civil at the same time. I do it if I see enemy is tilting or edgy. Helps me win. But I never flame them. I keep it cool, polite, engage in conversation where they have to type way more than I do and I try t oruin their concentration as well as unit cohesion.

YOu can do all that and stay polite. Because flame is a flame. Nobody likes it herre.
