Most of the 10 year anniversary art is better than the actual spashart.

Almost every single one has more personality than every one of the spasharts period. Fiddlesticks looks actually gothic. Tryndamere fits his kit. Shaco doesnt look like wakeen pheonix's joker rather than jared letos.

Compared to the current spasharts that is basically the same exact thing over and over again 100 times. Weapon in the forground with the champion in the background. with the face looking either menacing or seductively.

Malphite has the best fan art. He's a literal mountain

sure, some like Jax are better, but I would say most official splash arts are way better than the fan art. not that they are bad though

Theyre meme-ier, and quite nice, and id definitely use them often. But i wouldnt say theyre strictly "better".

Trynda doesn't even look like himself. At best it looks like a much younger version of him.(besides how does him standing calm in the snow fit his kit, that is literally fueled by rage?)

Thing is, fanarts aren't dictated by a company's marketing rules. The official splash arts are either 1) a hentai comic cover for tweens 2) an edgy angry shounen manga for kids...... because they're dictated by Riot's (or better, Tencent's) own marketing rules.

Fanarts can capture the actual essence of the character because they've been made by real passion towards the character, not a cold, cynical (and frankly immature) "I think we need more tits and more edgy boys".
