Well, the "vast majority" is wrong. Nobody DESERVES respect. Respect is something that is EARNED.

Nobody is entitled to respect. Everybody is entitled to basic courtesy. Or at bare minimum, entitled to the chance to prove they don't deserve it.
So you just got punished and dont like the reform card you re seeing? Im not gonna ask for your chat logs because thats not the point here but dont hesitate to paste them. Heres the point: a free to play virtual online multiplayer game is not the real world. No need to bring proverbs here (debatable proverb that is). Your education or values are irrelevant here.
If LoL doesnt match your personal values, thats perfectly ok because you can uninstall it any time.
Lol, it's one thing to "respect" someone's ability to play the game and praise them accordingly, but just because someone isn't good at the game or you don't like how they are playing, that doesn't give you the right to insult and flame them lol. "Respect has to be earned" is just another way to excuse your behavior behind a shield of "Only good players should be respected as human beings."

Youre not wrong, respect has to be earned, but there needs to be minimum respect (kinda like you will politely say hi to your classmate, for example). From that point, based on person's actions, you can decide if you will respect him more or less.
i mean i agree. respect is not given or demanded. its earned. but that doesnt mean i have to be an ass to a random person.
i consider myself a person who chats a bit too much ingame with stupid jokes and trying to call for objectives. almost every match that gets me a "stfu you chat too much". eh.
I'm not going to say anything disrespectful about race, sexuality, gender, etc. But I'm going to shit talk you if you are bad.
