Why doesn't muting a player also mute their pings

What's the point of making sure he can't verbally abuse you when he's just gonna spam mias, death timers, and assistance flags all game. To be honest the pings are more annoying than the words themselves because they're actually taking up space on the screen and have a loud noise associated with them.

I don't think muting should also mute pings, but I do think there should be a separate option to mute them.

Their excuse is simply this. "They could be helpful pings later on". Yeah, ok RIOT. I'm pretty sure if someone is beating my ass down the block and rob me, they wouldn't just say "sorry man" and give me a thousand dollars. That's legit insanity.

the concern is that a good chunk of the playerbase types /mute all at the start of every game. making pings the sole source of communication with some players
