AFKs out of control in lower elo

I am on the boarder of quitting this game. Lower elo has a terrible afk rate. Sitting at 22% for unranked and 13% for bronze ranked (up from 10% bronze ranked since June as i have been tacking this stat). This is out of control because there is no consequence for players that just walk away. I haven't afk'ed in over a year and i applaud others who haven't but we are not getting any LP back for being good players. We basically just take it up the @$*.

I want to see something done about this or i am considering finding a new game. Not much you can do 4 v 5. My proposal is you have an afk timer much like an dodge timer. First afk is one day timer, second afk is two day timer, and so on. It can reset at the end of the season back to one day. PLEASE DO SOMETHING THE GAME IS BECOMING UNPLAYABLE! If there is a better solution let me know.

My problem isn't even afks in Silver Elo. It's the people picking Ashe bot and thinking they can actually win.

I just had 3 afks in out of 5 gold games feels bad man.

I just go afk if i give the first blood or get ganked by a jungler that just casually walks up to lane and autos me.

I'm not gonna lie, I afk a lot. As a matter of fact, I'm currently in a low priority queue. I don't like or want to do it but playing an extreme amount of stomp games where your team refuse to surrender because "we can win" wears you the fuck out. I always end up reaching a point where I just get the fuck out in the middle of a match because it's pointless to continue and calling for ff is meaninless because at least two assholes would refuse. I mean how many times can you tryhard through games where the scoreline is like 9-27 and lose? After too many of these, you start regarding all that tryhard effort a waste of time.

I always promise myself I would stop doing it. Then it happens. A hard stomp. I try and try, lose. Next game, hard stomp, try hard, lose. Next game, hard stomp, try hard, lose. Next game, hard stomp, call for ff, it fails, continue trying to win, lose. Next game, hard stomp, call for ff, it fails, continue trying to win, lose. Next game, hard stomp, call for ff, it fails, continue trying to win, lose. Then finally, next game, hard stomp, I afk because it's a waste of time playing past that point and my team would refuse to surrender. I know it's a loss.

Please note that I've been playing since season 5 and I've never afked in previous seasons without legit reasons(power outages, internet problems, life happens etc). Hard stomps were a different beast in previous seasons. A 9-27 score line in season 5 was perfectly playable and winnable as the losing team back then. Today, it's certain defeat. Most people haven't figured that out yet.

oh if you single out NA (where you play ) in unranked games a afk happens 12.7% of the time, 8.6% of the time in bronze, 5.5% in silver, 3.9% in gold.

so your numbers arent 100% correct with your complaint. you cant take into account afk rates for all regions when you are talking about games in NA.

yet only 4.2% of afk are in NA total which is very low on the list.

Meh I barely have afks ever I am in plat though. Maybe bronze should have a few special rules like how you get a free win if you see demoted for promos up to plat 5.
