so I played on my main account which is this one I have never ever been chat restricted etc etc but I log onto my smurf to level it up holy moly low elo's and low levels are the saltiest bunch I am only level 13 on the account so far I have been reported by the enemy team when THEY bm and lose and even my own team cause I tell them to play safer. For example i had a afk lucian for 10 minutes comes back complaining that he keeps on dying and getting doved on I tell him to play safe and let them push so he can level up to catch up and he blames his twisted fate support for pushing the lane, I still won and carried my heart out. TBH I do not know who reported me but all I know all it takes is like 2 or more reports in one game and you get a notification and the next time it happens your most likely to get like chat restriction or ranked restriction and then after like any report you get it AGAIN for like even more games.\

TL;DR- low elos are salty report for no GOOD reason at all all it takes is 2 or more reports from like one or 2 games you get chat restricted by its automated system. FYI this did not happen to me but I got the notification after one game on my smurf.

false reports don't do anything to you. They trigger notifications, but if you've done nothing wrong, the report will just get thrown out.

Also, more people reporting you doesn't mean you'll get punished more or quicker. 1 report per game is good enough to trigger investigations (if they are valid reports), more reports per game will just act as statistics towards riot's system.

Now if you've been reported over alot of games, and those are valid reports, thats when you'll get punished.

Also at lower levels, there are tonnes of smurfs that got banned and then started a new account. So they act more harshly. Of course, they are better players than alot of the newbies, as the newbies are still learning lots of things from the game, and they tend to react to the newbies in a toxic manner (go figure why they were banned in the first place.)

People can report for whatever they want, but that doesn't mean the system will issue a punishment for it. If you know you're doing nothing wrong, then who cares who is reporting you and for what? If the reports are false, the system will realize that and not issue a punishment. Beyond that, the system will reduce the weighting of reports made by players who frequently falsely report others.

Even getting the notice that you were recently reported doesn't actually mean much. It's there as a fast-feedback tool to give players who need it a heads-up that people recently reported them. The system doesn't verify the reports before giving notice (it would take too long to process each report in realitime, defeating the purpose of a fast-feedback system). And getting the notice doesn't mean your account is close to punishment or not. The warning means only that you were recently reported, and nothing else.

One final point, is that multiple reports in a single game don't necessarily hold much more weight than a single report. This is to minimize effectiveness of 4-man premades reporting their 5th. The system mostly looks at the number of games in which you're reported, not so much the number of reports in a game.
