Jungling without smite

I get that very few champs can jungle without smite such as shaco and maybe the tree guy who sets monsters free, that's how much i don't keep up with patch notes and new champs now in league with it's ever changing game. That being said, I just had a terrible game with a warwick who decided to jungle despite there being an empty lane mid and he had no smite because forgot, ended up being level 2 at 8 minute mark and either dying to jungle monsters, or dying to enemy jungle, or just plain being nonexistent in the game providing zero pressure and basically is walking piece of gold and exp for enemy team. I'm trying to be not toxic but it was a very frustrating game so bare with me a little.

Anyway, when is it considered trolling? I think the warwick although made poor decisions for the team, was not inting and was trying to jungle. Just that the fact that the jungle was rough and he died several times to jungle monsters and that mid was open and that minions have the "catch up" exp mechanic so you can level up much faster and gain way more gold farming a lane than a jungle with no smite, plus you also defend a turret from being seiged and indirectly defending the nexus doing so, I feel going mid is the obvious choice rather than farming jungle and dying constantly or being behind because no smite.

POINT - Where am I going with this? Well basically this is super grey area no black and white, and I just want to know your opinion. Is it trolling in this situation where the person forgot smite, is level 2 at 8 minutes, died at least 4 times to monsters and 2 times to enemy champ, you ask him to cover mid because it would be better than dying in jungle and that we have no one mid anyway and he refuses and then when dies says "it's okay i got red so enemy can't get it". Is this plain trolling? Is it plain stupid but totally acceptable? Because I had no idea how to react to this because of course it was obvious there was no chance at winning, we got stomped so hard even ants from another country felt it, but also, I knew i couldn't point out the obvious of how stupid it was for him to jungle without smite since he is 0/6/0 because saying anything like that only means you get reported and in trouble by the system, and your teammates all become hostile in chat towards you and can even start to just purposely not help you when you are being attacked by enemy champ just for laughs because they hate you and think you are toxic. So of course i just sat there and played an uphill game forced to let warwick waste everybodies time, but is this what the game has been reduced to? Junglers who only jungle because they think you HAVE to have a jungler even if you don't have smite just because it's what is normal to do? Am I just an abomination for actually having a brain and going against the tradition team comp of having a jungler because the jungler forgot smite and im here saying it was pointless to jungle without smite. This is like playing in a basket ball game but instead of having all players playing, one guy is scrubbing the floor while everyone is playing and says it's important to let the floor be shiny. Obviously basketball is not league, but i bet you anything that it is normal to be angry at the guy who is doing something useless during a game.

It sounds like he just forgot smite and had a bad game because of it. It happens bro

You are answering the question yourself: is not trolling cause you were the first to say he just fucked up. Nothing too "grey" about it tbh, jungling without smite is more than enough to TOTALLY fuck a jungler up.

Prepatch I get it sometimes people forget, I have.

Now JG role auto activate smite, so you have to purposely remove it to jg without smite.

Too troll. Should be auto ban.

Jungling without smite is doable, you need to start D Blade and get the jungler's potion and you just tax laners when you gank and make sure you get krugs and crabs. When ranking up an account, I jungled with heal before I unlocked smite.

Warwick can't go mid because, although he'll definitely get more xp, he'll get far less gold because he won't be able to trade. He has no gap closer and no ranged ability.

He did the best he could so like others say, he's not reportable, everyone that plays jgl has forgotten smite and kicked themselves for it. It's definitely not punishable.

Doesn't the game automatically give you Smite now if you are given Jungle? If it does, not taking it should definitely be considered trolling and if it doesn't it should be common courtesy for the JG to DC during the loading screen so the team can remake.
