Let's talk about passive aggression through the words of our own forum members

Great Muta·12/1/2016, 2:45:07 PM·3 votes·899 views

Here is the goal of this forum via its guidelines:

>This board is all about fostering a healthy community in which discussions can revolve around player behavior systems, in-game suspensions, or boards moderation. This includes topics on how the systems work, insight into why players were punished, and advice to help players improve moving forward.

That's fine and seems okay.

Now let's look at some of the comments from the new section of this forum:

>Grow up.

>The fact that you didn't learn your lessons back at that point can only be blamed at a single person, we must all take responsibility for our own shit.

>they should of skipped straight to the perma ban.

> for one would call this guy a kid

>And here we see the wild bronze in it's natural habitat. Blissfully ignorant of their surroundings, the bronzes like to convince themselves that they're not bad by blaming what is known as "hacks".They also don't know how warlords works apparently. Judging by your post history, nothing is going to convince you, so lets just not even bother

>Wait, you play since S2 and still in bronze ? You must be banned for hacking bronze all those years :D

>And human eyes quickly found the truth...that the only thing you improved, was the cleverness of your toxicity.

>"wrongfully", "permabanned", Pick one.

>Logs or gtfo, scrub.

>So you are a toxic troll and you finally got what you deserve and you are upset over this? +3 upvotes for this

>Please don't make another account if this how you will behave.

>Too lazy, didn't read. You deserved it. End of story.

I'm not seeing "fostering a healthy community", I'm seeing "let's take a dump on someone who can be exploited". It's also looking more like a revenge porn type of deal here where people are legitimately trying to have fun at other people's misery. I'm also seeing a ton of subtle toxicity that is really just passive aggression.

I'm not going to name names, because quite frankly, if you look at the names, it's the same 20-30 people every single time. They know who they are. I've even called them out for being RBSC members and I do stick by it.

I think it's time that the mods either get serious around here or the forum undergoes a massive cleansing, because I consistently see and report posts that are harassing and I don't feel that the overall guidelines are really being met. Due to the way the upvoting system is, it also seems to be more of a contest over who can say the meanest thing while making it look like they are "helping". And overall, I just don't think this is a good path for this forum to go on.

Sadly, as much as Rito tries to tell you differently, group reporting does work. The last 4 times I've had reports asked for, I've gotten punished each time.

This Great Muta is what You are talking about as well as me....?

You seem to put a lot of opinions up and yet condemn others who do the same!

Shame on you ! I still ask you the difference and the meaning of this thread.

Then I won't do you the same favor.

What favor?

Did you not like or understand the Q. or simply want me to include others ?

Quoting myself:

You don't like poster demonstrating the very traits that get people punished in-game? Should I say you don't like posters that agree with Riots rules using what you feel like gets players punished in-game?

Did I hit a nerve? I didn't intend that but okay. I think your post is doing exactly what I am saying. If you don't want to talk about subject why bring it up?

Remember fellow posters that this is the boards and not a game. Rules are a bit different here. I'm not going to say that everything Great Meta said is W/O merit, I'd just like to find the point at which we can discuss this.

Up-down voting is simply voting. One of the goals of flat-earth deniers is to convince people that the earth isn't flat. Q.E.D.

Those who say there's no "RBSC" as you call this also include those who are genuinely like "wtf?" Sounds like someone's trying to invent their own new hashtag or term and is reeeaallly wanting it to be the next trending thing to me, but whatevs. Probably a side-effect of whatever causes this same person to name themselves the Great [fill-in-the-blank]. Enjoy your RBSC. Ima get some Ribeye Bbq and SourCrout.

Great Muta (NA) - 18 minutes ago I agree with you but in a much different manner!

Ok

I honestly believe players who have a 'piss fit' because of previous punishments, and come on the board to spread BS should have to adhere to a 'don't be a dick' rule.

What is the "bs" specifically? Back up your claim.

'don't be a dick' rule.

Please clearly define the "don't be a dick rule" and please tell me how it can be enforced and who will be doing that enforcing. I have a feeling that a rule not based on concrete guidelines is going to be open to multiple interpretations.

Not, that I have to include a list I'm sure those people know who they are ;) Goes both ways friend.

Well I do have a list and what I'm seeing is that a certain 20-30 people on here are enforcing a certain meta for this forum and for simplicity reasons, I refer to these people as the RBSC - Rito Butt Slappers Club.

Let me try to simplify and ask you a question K? I'm not going to do the above and start what I feel like being an argument not a clear discussion, so I'm asking 1st.

What I get from your thread is: You don't like poster demonstrating the very traits that get people punished in-game? Should I say you don't like posters that agree with Riots rules using what you feel like gets players punished in-game?

Is this much correct? If not feel free to let me know...I use crono-view so please quote, Thanks :)

Even another user is noticing that there is a clear "thought policing" group, so I'm not alone here:

Why do people resort to reposting without an "Edit"?

I really think when anyone does this it is Dirty play!

It's just that "they" are not "known as" this. If anything, "they" have long been known simply as "fanbois." Whether ppl agree or disagree with whether the term fits a particular person is another topic. But "fanboi" is what "they" have been referred to. It's a term that is clear, understandable, to the point and already nearly universal in its application across a variety of different communities here and elsewhere. Sorry, but whoever coined the term "fanboi" kinda beat you to it a long time ago.
