Does the exceptionally rare left game eventually fade?

Due to unforseen cirucmstances (not a connection issue, but rather a sudden, real life one) I had no choice but to leave a game. Before anyone hangs me, I have never left a single game because of anything that happened during it, not once ever, and I entirely regret having to do it in this case because I know all too well from others doing it how it ruins the experience. My question is, is any left game a permanent strike against you or does time heal this if it doesn't continue? This was a one-off incident and I just dont want to feel afraid to play for fear of major penalties if I ever experience another event beyond my control, such as a medical emergency or disaster of some sort.

My daughter is accident prone.

In the last couple of years I've had a couple (2... maybe 3?) games where I've to leave because the 5-7yo child walks in bleeding from her foot or scraped knee or whatever. (bleeding from her... whatever? do I get extra credit for a TrumpIsm?)

Being a dad comes first. In those cases I've just said, "Daughter hurt herself I need to afk sorry".

Haven't been punished yet (but it's not like I make a habit of leaving).

I once left a bot game when the opiates wore off (kidney stone). Like others have said, life happens.

I wouldn't dwell on it or worry. There are times when reality comes first under extreme circumstances. Things will be out of your control. The only thing that you have to realize is that consistent leaving is really the issues and problems. You're not going to be penalized like a permaban or anything for a couple here and there. I've done it and it happened a few times in my 10 years of playing.

So don't worry about it. It's about the consistent leavers who get the leaver buster. It literally takes a re-iterated amount to really get a real punishment for leaving. And yes, they do fade, like any penalty tier in League of Legends.

You're good, man.

Relax man. Don't make it a habit and you won't have to worry. Real life happens and if you have to leave a game every few months I don't see Riot holding it against you. Needless to say, if you think you might have to leave a game early it's probably better to play something that isn't going to ruin other peoples game, but emergencies happen.

They do fall off, the system can tell the difference between ragequitters and random power outages/DCs. That said, if you repeatedly disconnect and dont come back, you get banned regardless of it being intentional or not, just due to being a liability.

I think in the entire, nearly 10 years, I've been playing this game I've left 3 times. I've never gotten a leaverbuster or anything because they were very spaced out.

Off the top of my head I remember one leave was because my father was in town and called me out of nowhere (and he lives like 800 miles away so ya, I'm gonna go see him) and another one was actually last week because Comcast cut a cable or something and the whole house lost all service >___>

I guess I'm just a little paranoid, because I'm generally a good person who occasionally makes a mistake. Ive had too many games ruined by leavers/quitters/giver-uppers to impose that on anyone else. :p

thanks for the responses :)
