@Riot, can you have a little more compassion and actually try to help players with compromised accs?
I apologize in advance if this isn't in the right spot.
A few months ago after I had paused from League for about a month or two, I logged into my account... or attempted to. Apparently during this time of my break, someone managed to find my account and hacked it. However it wasn't just league. No, the same person managed to hack into my Ebay, my Facebook and my League account at the same time. Luckily I managed to get everything fixed and everything was eventually settled.
However, I realized how incredibly lucky I was. Because I have seen a few stories where players have been banned due to compromised accounts and those players having 3rd party programs used on those accounts. And this is what most of them have responded, "Your account had a 3rd party program on it. And because it was used by someone on this account, we're killing the account and you're never getting it back. And we don't care how it was used. All that matters is that it was used, period. Good luck. We're not helping you." I could have easily been in that same area. I could have easily have been the unlucky dude who just got utterly and completely screwed over because of the lack of pure compassion that the Rioters have.
Riot, you have players literally begging and pleading with you to help them out. And all you guys can see is that there was a 3rd Party Program used. No one seems to care that their accounts were hacked. And that they are being put in a terrible horrible situation.
Do you know how horrible it feels to be hacked? It's pretty much digital rape. Your privacy is attacked. You feel vulnerable and you absolutely lost all control over something that belonged to you. You're absolutely blocked out of something that belongs to you and there's nothing you can do. Riot, you are the only one that these players can rely on, and what do you do? You throw the book in their faces and tell them to piss off.
I'm not talking about the players that gave their password to a friend and got screwed over. I'm not talking about the players that cheated only one game and got caught. I'm talking about the legitimately innocent players that got hit by the RNG of life and were attacked by a genuine hacker. These people who were screwed by something that was outside of their control.
Right now the ONLY reason I feel like I was helped at all, was because the person who hacked my account, never did anything with it. Yet for some reason Riot, your Rioters were able to look past that someone (From Taiwan) else logged into my account, changed my password and locked me out completely. I'm grateful that you helped me out, but what if that person used a 3rd Party Program? Would you have kicked me to the curb too?
Riot, please. Listen to me. There are cheaters. There are people who just give their accounts to anyone. But there are real genuine victims out there that need your help and you need to stop treating these people like they're criminals along with everyone else. If you see there's a 3rd Party Program used and the person is telling you, "They didn't do it." They're a customer. A patron. You are obligated to say, "Well you didn't do it. So let's see what happened."
What would happen if banks did things the way you do it? "Your bank account has fraudulent charges. Because of this, we'll be unable to help you." People randomly get hacked. It happens. It's not due to negligence. Or incompetence. Sometimes, people just get screwed. Can you possibly just... show a little extra more compassion towards the legitimate victims of hackers? Please? ;(
