People shouldn't be put in low priority queue now that /remake is a thing

The game wouldn't let me connect to my last game and now I'm in low priority queue... I haven't been AFKing in any of my games, I don't deserve this. It's not my fault that the game wouldn't let me connect.

Literally everybody's argument for people being put into low priority queue when it's not their fault is "wah my precious time" Dude... /remake is a thing

you're not losing lp like you used to you get an easy way out when somebody's disconnected - you don't have to play through entire games 4vs5 like you used to sometimes people can't connect and it's not their fault; they shouldn't be punished for it by being put into low priority queue especially when the servers take a shit and won't let people connect like it did on March 13th this year.

Low priority queue should be reserved for people who AFK on purpose past the 4 minute mark, not people who have the rare connection problem.

Remakes only lessen the burden of a player's absence on the others, it doesn't entirely diminish them. The other players still have lost anywhere from 5-30 minutes each in queue and champ select, plus the frustration of dealing with it.

Leaver penalties need to stay regardless of the reason, so that you're more inclined to try and fix it, or to mitigate how much trouble it causes for others if you don't.

If you need help with frequent connection or crash issues, please post on the Help & Support board and they'll do what they can to assist you.

People got put in low priority queues when the servers were fucking up and they had to take ranked queues down for maintenance, and guess what - it wasn't their fault.

if the servers are still affecting you then there's no reason why you shouldnt just make a support ticket. no one here can help you and if there is a server issue still going on im sure that riot wouldnt mind helping you.

however, there's always the possibility that it's your end and not theirs.

Random aside? I love see your comments in these threads, as you're usually on point with your comments, always friend/encouraging/helpful yet still analytical and fairly objective, and usually your comments save me the trouble of saying things myself. Thanks for being the sort of person the community needs. :D

While I understand where you're coming from (and would love a way to determine connection failure vs. intentional non-connecting -- something that is, sadly, not easily to do with current internet technology), having a system like this has some severe ramifications for non-ranked play.

Namely, it would be possible for someone unhappy with their role, team picks, allies, or opponent's champion selection to simply disconnect their internet before the game begins, let their allies /remake, and get back in a game more to their preference within 3-5 minutes with no personal penalty -- but wasting the time of nine other players, and frustrating them as well. That's dangerous, because there ARE people who would abuse that, and it would lead to more /remakes, more waiting, and more frustration from players.

Hence why I specified non-ranked play, where there is no LP loss involved. The time issue and frustration issue are still present in ranked play, but the penalty there does help discourage this behavior. Non-ranked play, however, would likely suffer.

They do. It's called low-priority queue. The same thing you're advocating against. The threat of having to spend ages to get into your next match is typically enough incentive.

You know how often I hear that? About as often as I hear someone say they're lagging. Or that they're a pro Riven. Or that they have school/work.

You can't get put into LPQ for a single match, or even two. You need 3-5 for it to happen. If your internet or computer are that faulty, you really shouldn't be playing at that point, because you're a serious hazard to your team if you can't play. So maybe you do have absolute garbage connection, and it's not your fault. Or maybe you're just having issues, in which case you're an idiot for continuing to try to do the exact same thing. Or, far more likely, you're intentionally doing it, and trying to get out of breaking the rules.

You don't get low priority just from 1 game. It takes a few games of leaving to get affected by it.

I see the OP's point. I've been having weird connection problems sometimes where my internet is fully running and the game won't connect. I have to completely log out of LOL and log back in to enter game, at which point sometimes a few minutes had passed.

I'm hoping problems like this are rare, in which case I think the low priority is appropriate due to the time loss you make 9 other people experience. I actually got 1st blood last night in a game and then got pushed out of game to a remake as our Caitlyn was missing. :( lol

If you disconnect and are unable to reconnect, I recommend performing the Renew/Release IP and Flush DNS step here. It's worked for me in the past.
