"Honorable" Toxic Players.

So when I started playing today, I got paired with a triple queue, nothing unusual there, but I noticed that we were losing and hard. So I tried to surrender, but was met with unanimous resistance. I tell them that I can't carry them, and that this is a clear loss.

Now here's where it starts. One of the enemy team starts berating me for being realistic. So they start harassing me, calling me hurtful things, and all that crazy stuff. I just let it go hoping I wouldn't see them again after the match.

Lo and behold, I get paired with the EXACT SAME TRIPLE QUEUE in the next game. Now the one who was harassing me? He wasted NO TIME in harassing me again. From the champ select to the game itself. Once the game starts, before we even head into lane, he goes into all chat:

"<my lane opponent champ name>" "Hope you want to feel like a Challenger." "This guy sucks." "He's all lubed up and ready for you."

Then I died once because the jungler ganked, and he goes right back into all chat with "It begins."

I figured 'enough was enough' and just muted him because he was not contributing anything in the chat. So yeah, that lasted until the end, of course we lost again and what do I see?

THIS GUY... THE ONE WHO HAS BEEN EXPLICITLY HARASSING ME NON-STOP... GETS THE MOST HONORABLE PLAYER ON THE TEAM AWARD!

That just makes me so fucking mad it's unreal. It's like Riot doesn't care about people being toxic, because being honorable is tied directly to how well you can play the game.

Would you honour the positive guy who went 0/4 in lane over the toxic person who carried you? You can mute toxic players but you can't force someone to not suck.

honor means literally nothing lmao u can be toxic and be honor 5 with 100 other accounts banned

I've learned to never pay attention to the honorable ranking, since it doesn't properly reflect the actual behavior of the player in question. It is true though, I often see people being voted due to how well they did, over their actual behavior. It's an incredibly redundant system, even if Riot tries to make it not the case.

The best suggestion I can make is wait a few minutes before starting a new match, if you happen to run into one more or toxic players during a match. Plenty of people play League, so that'll be enough time to avoid having to play with them. Outside of that, mute, report, move on.

Oh yeah, because riot should hire a person to moderate every game and decide who's honorable or not. If your teammates thought he's the most honorable person, then it's their choice.

Also, not trying to be rude, but it looks like you put sticks on fire. If 4 of your teammates don't want to surrender you being a jerk and spamming the surr option is annoying when paired with the superior "I tell them that I can't carry them", like you're the bauss. You just triggered them. It's not a justification for their behavior, but don't expect rainbows

well if it's premade trio and the flamer got most honorable, it literally means nothing

all that's saying is his premade honored him, but honors received by people in your group give you next to nothing

Even worse is when a teammate flames you the entire game and your best friend of 15 years honors said teammate...

I was livid.

There is no reason to justify honoring a toxic person. I don't care if they are 20/2/40 or something. The fact is they had the audacity to tilt someone just because they wanted to show their butt. Also chances of that player actually doing EVERYTHING in that game to earn that 20kill score is highly unlikely. I have no idea how many times I've seen players set up kills for other players to just swoop them up like eating a pack of gummy bears. It's a team effort most of the time because it's a team game. Having a ton of kills doesn't make that player the best player that game unless they were outright stomping by themselves from the start. Even then, if that person was toxic, they are not getting an honor from me. The fact you are willing to tilt people for your own amusement is poor sportsmanship and should not be rewarded period.

wait, what riot has to do with that? your teammates decided to honor him

it happened to me too, the most toxic one was the most honored after match

good news is the following day i got an ifs notification that my report triggered a punishment

so, all is well what ends well

There's a LOT of toxic players who harass and try to tilt their team(or so it seems at least), but avoid getting banned by not saying any key words. It's really sad.

How exactly are Riot meant to stop people from honouring whoever they want?

hey getting better at the game decreases that chance of being harassed you should try it :)

He obviously got honored by pre-mades, that's part of what they're known to do right? Feed each other honors?
