How to become less toxic

"Fake it 'til you make it."

There are other ways, but this one is simple and relies on a psychological mechanism that everyone has. You see, the human brain is intrinsically wired on an action/reward system: anything you use is strengthened, anything you don't use withers away.

What this means is that if you fake it, if you get outplayed, get angry, but then lie and force yourself to write "good job, that was a wonderful play!" in all chat, eventually you'll actually mean those words.

The lie will become true, because that's just how the human brain works.

good concept but flaming isn't a part of the action/reward system as flaming doesn't bring any reward to you

If you don't instantly fullmute all when the game starts then you are basically saying that you are open to flaming and being flamed. The only real solution is to mute everything from emotes to chat from all players and then control your own urges to type and flame. To expand on what you said, however, I find that people are toxic because they are attached to outcomes. They go for a play, fail, and become toxic because they are mad at themselves or someone else. Releasing that attachment to outcome and accepting that things will go either good or bad should work in theory. Basically, following the basic religious principle to release yourself from all desire - with no desire, there would not be tilt, anger, etc.

And how is this connected to the reward system? O.o Do you gain anything by writing "good job"? I'm just curious.

I can't tell you or make you become less toxic but I can tell you how I am not toxic. At least in my experience I was toxic originally. Frustrated when starting out League people flaming you because you suck (kinda still do tbh lmao) but the point is when you're fighting on the Rift with your teammates and things don't turn out the way you intended it to be it's out of your control. Worry about things you CAN do. Stop worrying about things you cannot control and work with what you got. Yes, it's ok to be upset but being toxic to anyone or anybody does not end well. If you implement this everything else will iron itself out. in the Rift and off the Rift. Hope this helps.
