Honest question: Banning pick intentions

So for the most part, suggestions about how to "fix" Riot's systems are just bad. LP loss forgiveness for somebody "feeding" on your team is a popular suggestion with tons of potential for abuse, for example. "Potential for abuse" tends to be the mitigating factor for all sorts of issues. That's probably why the Remake system is so narrow, for example.

But has Riot ever commented on the ability for players to ban their teammates' own draft intentions? The best case for allowing it to happen that I can come up with is that a champ is at a pick-or-ban power level and a teammate is trying to last-pick it, but that's super narrow and still highly debatable. As far as I can tell, the two main reasons for banning your own teammate's pick are to directly troll them or because you weren't paying attention. Neither seem like they should be allowed.

I can't really agree. I think players should be allowed to ban whatever champions they want.

I don't think it would be very fair if you weren't allowed to ban whomever you wanted to. The 15-year-olds who ban someone's pick intent because they flamed them is immature and they should be kicked form the queue for that. However, if someone wanted to play support Teemo or mid Skarner on my team, you know I'd ban that shit right away. People should have the right to ban troll picks if they don't want to play with them.

Bans happen before picks.

Bans are designed for excluding picks.

Intentions can change. Bans can not.

Sorry but the bans should work both ways. If you're adc and you really do not want that Singed support you should be able to ban it out.

holy hell dude, its enough that free speech is completely dead in this game, but we need to punish people for banning certain things too?

chill the fuck out.

if a contested character (yas lee lucian)has last pick and first isn't willing to trade i can see why banning pick intents can be reasonable
