Can you still discern whether or not it actually was a good game or well played?
It's customary now, just a little formality to show you're a part of the game. I noticed that I was typing it out of habit and even though the letters were there, I wasn't thinking of either statement.

im the kind of player that if i get my ass kicked all game and the other team just dominated they will "gg " i will reply " no bg , you kicked our asses" im able to admit when i get beat and not butthurt about it.
I try to follow a little code regarding "gg."
If it is a relatively close back and forth game or if we get smashed, I say "gg wp."
If we blow them out of water, I say gg.
If they have a leaver, I say "bg, sorry for leaver."
If we have a leaver, I say nothing.
