this whole "unpopular opinion" abuse is bull

Okay, it is rant time dear kids, take a seat and ready your popcorn and tune up some idubbz to help you question your moral sense of life and humanity.

It has seemingly become a very popular trend to say "unpopular opinion, but" and i think this is nothing short of very cheap bullshit. Honestly, it is just the newest means to attentionwhore and gain some merciful sympathy when wanting to say something that is not unpopular, but annoying and/or empty flame. And most of the time it isn't even an opinion to begin with, but rather a vent or something that actually a lot of people share already. It is a meaningless attempt to just make people think poorer, and in turn softer of what you have to say.

If anyone has something to say, just be fucking honest. Sure, if you are aggressive, flaming or stubbornly refuse to take what other people tell you then yes you deserve the flame and hate from the comments but at least you can then know you didn't put up some fake act to gain sympathy for your opinion. It is cheap to do so, so please drop this "unpopular opinion" nonsense because it really only makes you look all the more revealing to the fact that you don't share an opinion but just wanna say something you KNOW most people will not agree with.

You can turn this Thing into a meme, but if you seriously go out into a discussion and say "unpopular opinion but (insert nonsense. e.g., renekton op, revert [...] rework etc etc etc)" then you really don't have to act surprised if you get hit with an extra dose of realism that will just probably end up hurting your feelings COUGH arrogance COUGH and result in a forum fight that will lead to your comments going all below the threshold. so don't. If you wanna be honest, just be honest. if you wanna vent, just vent. it may not be popular but at least noone can really say shit back to you except a simple truth to whatever topic you open up.
