Trolls and champ select

Summary: Another post about why Riot should add the ability to report a player in champ select.

Details and supporting arguments/examples: I just refused to lock in a champ in last champ select and took a hit for it. I did it because mid was already steaming mad and threatening to troll after locking in a troll pick mid. He indicated he wanted to play fizz. Well then our adc hover teases to ban fizz, but bans a different champ. Next the enemy team DOES ban fizz and mid loses it. Because obviously the enemy only would ever ban fizz since our adc threatened/teased banning it. So mid locks soraka and says he will troll/int all game long to prove a point that 2 people can play that game (troll). Mid even said he was in promos but was going to troll to prove a point. I try calming everyone down, and just get told "I don't give a F$C%" by mid. So clearly nothing was going to stop him intentionally throwing the game as hard as he possibly could simply to get revenge at our adc for HOVERING fizz ban. Because I'd rather not have another guaranteed loss due to a teammate trying their hardest to ruin the game for everyone else, I chose to take a hit for all 4 other players on my team and not lock in - giving them the chance to have a game free of trolls and inting. But it is the midlaner who should be taking the hit. Yet he cannot even be reported with the current reporting system. Instead, I look like a bad guy for doing the right thing for 4 other people.

I know I'm not always the nicest person with everything I do and say, but I try to be a decent human being most of the time. I give advice and shotcall nicely - letting people make the same mistake 2-3 times after I've told them how to correct it before becoming cranky. I even try things my teammates' way if they insist on doing things their way even if I know a different call is better. After they see their way fail with us working as a 5 man unit a few times, I try getting them to listen to a better option and hope they give my idea a chance. When the do it tends to work out for us. I don't flame for making a bad call once or twice, but repeating the same bad call 4, 5, 6, ... times in a row when I've explained an alternative we could easily do does get me to harp about at least trying alternatives to the obviously bad play. I honor teammates and opponents - sticking up for people who are easily mistaken as having performed poorly (due to kda or something) when they may actually have done decently. I look for small achievements by teammates who were having a rough start to the game and point them out as though they are really great plays - even if they are just mediocre - because people need encouragement for improving and making good TEAM plays. I would really like to people like the mid I mentioned above to learn that the game is not all about them, that they can play more than 1 champ - just as I try to teach my teammates that there is more than one play we can make as a team at any given point in the game and to think about what is best for the TEAM - not just what makes them look like they solo carried. Adding some function to allow players to get poor behavior like that mid had in the open and get it punished so that they can learn better behavior would be much appreciated by most of the community. I hope you will consider adding this functionality in the near future, and thanks to anyone who read this whole post.[slayer-pantheon-thumbs]
