I think it's time to create a report category for the various abuses of supports

Supports in normals, both blind pick and draft is a total shit show. These are things that consistently happen:

  • People picking champs not for the position, but because they want to play the champ. In the last 24 hours I've had Veigar, AP Nasus and Kled support. As you can guess, none of them worked out well and all 3 specifically said they didn't want to be support.

  • The support usually ends up as support due to being late to call their lane. Rarely are these people picking and then playing supports. It becomes more of a "do I want to get penalized for dodging or do I want to just play carelessly and likely lose" argument, and most just take the 2nd. I would match rather wait in q for 20 mins and find a real support than struggle through a 40 min game 1v3.

  • Supports taking cs is a huge deal. Right now, my supports are taking 10%-30% of my CS. This puts me 10%-30% behind the other team. Twice in my last few games, my support was 1-2 levels ahead of me due to this.

  • There's nothing the ADC can do but suck it up and deal with it. Any comment could be a verbal or negative. I'm basically going to be playing 1v3 and the only thing I can hope for is that a report in the wrong category helps me out.

Give ADC's a break Riot. It's hard enough to ADC and be able to be wiped in 1 second as is, yet alone having supports who don't want to support.

Cs doesn't level you up, being around the minions dying gives you the exp. If you were 1-2 levels behind it's because you left lane more often than your support

  1. Supports taking cs isn't as big a deal as you think. Doubly so if they grab a relic shield. It's gold for your team. The idea is that the adc get's more gold faster but that isn't the ONLY way it can work.
  2. I've made all sorts of weird supports work. Veigar specifically works well if he's landing stuns. Playing against a fiddle support with a jinx adc was a torturous lane. Even seen AurelionSol work cause the adc just sits on him and farms while you can't even get close (obviously certain lane match ups would counter this but they didn't have that set up).
  3. It's blind pick. You get what you get. And draft doesn't ensure they get what they want either. Support is one of the hardest parts of the game. You have to not only play for yourself but you have to help another player while doing all sorts of stuff to help your team. It's a thankless role that doesn't do much damage (for the most part) and is more about making other people shine than getting the big plays yourself.
  4. CSing doesn't = extra xp; If you're behind in level it's because YOU are behind in level.
  5. ADC's do have to suck it up and deal with it. There's a dozen ways to make almost any bot lane combo work when you're in lower ranks.

If you're losing cs and don't like it; there are also items you can build which help you get it faster than most supports can even spam skills and auto's such as hurricane and shiv. Specific ADC's do this well too such as Sivir or Tristana. Take control if you want to ADC. If you're getting behind, I can almost guarantee that for 95% of your games it's not because your support took some cs. It's because you're not doing something right.

The size of the victim complex of the support role makes me embarrassed to call myself a main sometimes.
