Question about punishment tiers

I've personally never had any type of restriction on my account but I was just wondering how this one scenario works.

As we're all aware, there are 4 punishment tiers

10 game chat restriction
25 game chat restriction
14 day ban
Permanent ban

Also as most of us know, certain behavior such as slurs, threats, wishing self-harm, etc can skip an account with no prior punishments directly to a 14 day ban.

My question is can slurs, threats, self-harm, etc escalate an account from the chat restriction tiers to a permanent ban or does it always drop you into a 14 day ban first? Say someone just got done their 25 game chat restriction then called someone slurs. Would they get a 14 day ban or a permanent ban?

The severity of a punishment always depends on how severe the crime is. I'd imagine racial slurs and direct harassment of a player to receive a harsher punishment than a tilted player unintentionally letting loose in a game or two.

The thing to note is that it also depends on whether or not the person has been punished before. Typically repeat offenders are on thinner ice than someone just then being introduced into the system.

Sorry, was dealing with some computer issues, so couldn't reply to this sooner. I feel like you're missing the point of the matter. If I were to call you a racial slur, would you seriously consider that to be the same level of punishment of me calling you a noob, as just another mark on the tally until I get banned? I could hound someone down on League right now, and cyber bully them into the ground, and by your logic, if it counted as my first offense, shouldn't be enough to get me banned.

When I speak of different levels of punishment, I'm not saying this loosely, or just because.

Idk. But I can tell you I had a deserved 14 day ban for bad behavior and received a permanent ban for telling a player, that was as toxic if not more than I use to be, to grow up. It doesn't seem that it matters how bad what you say is if you get reported and it could be construed as unpleasant you'll get escalated to the next tier of punishment.

As in my case you can get executed for jaywalking if it is your final strike in the 4 strikes your out system. All it takes is someone reporting you so tread carefully this is Riot country and it is totalitarian, be afraid to chat.

Extreme instances will skip to worse punishments.

This is the problem with not being able to see the other players chat. When I say everyone is bad it is in response to the player berating someone else. The context is we're all in the same ELO we're all bad. The assumption from the log is I am outright calling people bad when in reality I'm stating the facts. We're all in the lower half of players, we're all equal. I'm not sure where the shit talking you're referring to is taking place. I'll assume you're either referring to when I call out the raging player, difficult when you cant see the rage infused comment previous to me saying "mid is raging", or when I call out the status of a lane, difficult when you can't tell I'm trying to indicate to jungle which lane is behind. Whats worse is their aren't even time stamps so when I say mid behind 30 cs? and then good luck it seem as if I'm talking shit to mid when in reality I'm commenting on 2 completely separate things.

The trick is to specifically state "aren't we all kind of bad? I mean we are silver after all". Not just call one person bad because they're in silver or bronze or whatever. I've done this multiple times when a teammate is being trashed by another. Never been punished.

See the difference? I didn't say they are emotionally imbalanced feeders because they're bronze. I said aren't we all kind of bad? Stop trying to mislead people. If you don't see your toxicity in that chat, you really need to learn some self awareness and take responsibility for the things you say. You can't insult people just cuz you were insulted. When it comes to chat in this game, you really gotta have some thick skin and be able to take some punches without insulting people because of it. Or have the willpower to mute people, if you can't handle being insulted without retaliating with more pointless, petty insults about video game skills lol.

in some cases you can be escalated to a permanent ban from restrictions. I would argue that it can even happen if you have never received a punishment before.

It all depends on the severity.

That is at Riots discretion, but yes they can escalate it to a permaban if they feel it is necessary. They won't provide you with exact guidelines as to what exactly they find necessary, of course.
