Riot can we make the non english language non stop reportable offense in E.U servers?

For real people enter games and all you see is some gibberish in some elven language with most of the words being **** like that so they obvious cursing or they open a conversation in non english language destroying the chat

Can we make it so its reportable? i know some people dont speak english and even me i havent master the english language but in game i dont spam the chat with my native language...so can we do something about it?

and the "just mute them dude" well if that the case then why we even have the report option for toxicity if its so easy to just "mute" them~!

Riot need to do something about that in E.U servers this is a problem...

EU servers You mean the European servers???? Where English is one of many NATIONAL Languages, as you are aware. Not every person is as lucky to have learned English. As why would you learn english, unless you plan on interacting with Americans/English. When you literally have 16 other languages that are within earshot of you. You want riot to say: "yeah, fuck all you non english speakers"

Simply because they don't speak your language of chosing does not mean they are not good players. In addition the flip side of the coin is You refuse to communicate with them, they actively are communicating.

Idc about how good or bad they are as players the fact that i play the game this person DOES speak english (and we live in 2017 if someone have PC and internet and time to play League trust me he know the basic english) but anyway this person SPEAK english in champ select as ai lready say but the moment he DIE he start a spam on his NATIVE language saying stuff nobody knows what but you see your lane on it...

How is that acceptable to you? if i say "fuck you jg" in english is toxic? but if i say "kurwa cyka jg" is ok? (the kurwa thing is like 90% on the E.U server..) what kind logic you have?

Because I speak English and Play this game as a non English speaker means everyone does. Because I am a representation of all........ Okay "fuck you jg" is it really toxic in and of itself? Has anyone ever been banned for saying that alone?

Did you know the system apparently changes with time to accommodate a community. Case in point cursing on NA isn't offensive by itself. So if 90% of EU say's Kurwa then the community is telling riot that it is not offensive :D so riot stops treating it as such

Nobody ever said that. Not once in this entire thread. You're imagining it. If he insults you you report him. The language is irrelevant. Nobody said it's ok. The point is that if you have no fucking idea what they are saying you can't just a) assume they are shittalking you and b) get them punished for not speaking one specific language.

Go and sit back, breath a couple of times and think about what you're actually suggesting. It's unrealistic and stupid

I don't know understand what this guy said -> I don't give a fuck If you understand it and it actually is an insult -> you report him after the game If people talking in different languages make you angry -> mute

The issue here is excessive swearing, which is obviously reportable (but NOT because they're not written in English).

But the fact you're linking and somehow painting it to be a problem to do with non-English languages themselves for whatever reason, suggests you have either a negative bias or even a hidden motive.

If you can understand the person is swearing at you, you can report them and specify in the comment section what the person was saying.

If you CAN'T understand what the person is saying, then who gives a shit?

The argument was "Who gives a damn".

If you don't understand the language you can't know if he is insulting you or not. If other languages make you angry for some reason you just mute them ingame and report after.

I love these kind of posts. Absolutely no points, and every problem you have is solved by just muting the stranger you get so angry about.

No one said it was OK. I have no idea what was said in that sentence, so I don't have a clue if it's ok. If YOU speak the language, then it's YOUR job to report it if it's not ok. If I don't speak the language then for all I know he could be writing a recipe for gingerbread cookies.

you can only get away with foreign language cursing / cussing / harassment if people don't report it.

using foreign language as a form of harassment may work in NA servers, probably not in EUNE as enough people understand it.

If I don't understand what a dude is saying to me, even if he's cursing, why the fuck should I care? I mean ... If you try to blame/flame someone and he don't understand you, what's the purpose? You don't make someone feel bad with words he doesn't understand ;D

and you remeber in N.A back when brazil was one server? i was playing back then in N.A (GOOD old time 80 ping now 390..SAD but hell at least rito create E.U servers)

how many times someone from the latin america was CURSING in his language? people curse because tehy want to curse they are toxic because they want to be toxic they dont care about the language

It's no argument that most people agree that chat filter system should include as many languages as possible.

As for the not so swearing dependent attacks,

If it's obvious then it's obvious, and you report accordingly.
If it's not obvious, then why should you care if you, the subject of the attack, can't understand? You are under no obligation to go out of your way to understand someone's verbal stinker, you know. And if they do come at you, apply the former point above.

That's basically that in the nutshell.

1 way to combat the hidden problem is having a better chat-filter system that at least can catch swear words across all supported languages of this game to some degree.

You can also make effort to encourage (but NOT force) the player to engage talking in official language of the server, or at least the language most shared/used by the players present, for communication purpose really considering that's what languages are even made in the first place (what good language is if everyone still couldn't understand each other? You know).

For aggressive and insulting speech that doesn't utilise swear words or obvious cue, which are common, that will be a big challenge I'll agree. As for solutions.... I really don't have much idea. But I'll say this though, unlike 1 hit wonders like swearing, personal attacks and such are required to be understood for the effect to actually take place, in other words, the attacker will generally make effort to have it properly read by the intended audience/subject-of-the-attack. So as far as I know, unless they are just some sick bum who likes to talk shit to themselves which by all means just ignore them and move on (I mean, from another angle of argument, why should you care to go out of your way to understand an insult you don't recognise due to language barrier?), otherwise you should have enough cues coming from them highlighting the attack against you. And if the latter is the case, report away.

Also, if a player just outright refuses to interact with the rest of the team, as in they very clearly don't make a single effort to acknowledge what others want them or the team to do, nor do they make any attempt to let themselves known and understood, and even going as far as to deny team communication. Hit it with a "refuse to communicate" report.

But yeah, it's a tough topic to say the least. But I'll stress again, the issue is not the language barrier itself, but people swearing and misbehaving, which your OP seems to be pointing to that direction, though admittedly your reply seems to be fairer.
