For the 3rd time in my experience, asking for reports was successful

Had a pretty bad week with league. Tons of stompings and I mean tons. I got promoted and proceeded to lose the next 7 of my games with 3 AFK's, including one that got me demoted. Already having a pretty rough week, I played again today.

All 3 lanes started to lose. As the jungler, I took all of the blame as usual. No names were called on my end, but I did warn the team that we were likely done. As I said this, the "report Sej" phrase was tossed around. First it was one lane, then after not helping in a 3v1 on a half HP turret due to knowing I would die, the next lane got in on it. Top lane then joined in on the fun as their lane as lost. I was told I was the worst player ever, asked to uninstall, was told to kill myself and other shit. I asked the team to mute me when the team complained about me and the team kept on. I just wanted out of the game and unfortunately, there was no other way without punishment. I had to fight off 4 teammates for the rest of the game who were doing whatever they could to get at me, and they did.

At champ select, I knew I was done. My team was able to get the other team in on it and then their top started telling me how bad I was. I didn't reply, just reported. In all, I reported 5 different players and got the message after saying my account was toast. I then immediately moved on to my other account and will now focus on ranking my 3rd account up - because let's be honest, as an adult with money, you can't ban me.

All I can say is that 3 times asking for reports has proven to be successful. The game that got me a 2 week was a game where my team asked for my report. The game that got me a 2 week on my main was a game where my team asked for reports.

Some other thoughts:

  • Banning someone accomplishes nothing. I can always get or make a new account. I can buy every skin in the game if I really wanted to. Only I can stop myself from playing the game and sometimes, I don't even know if I can do that.

  • There is nothing worse than facing 4 teammates asking for your report while harassing you.

  • The current snowball meta leads to increased toxicity. It's really hard to get your ass kicked 22-5 or whatever and know you are stuck until it's over. It not only leads to feelings of helplessness, it creates additional fights between neversurrenders and ff@20 people.

  • The reporting system encourages reporting and having a premade just ensures more reports for your enemy.

  • You aren't going to beat toxicity unless you disable chat, and there's really no need to have chat. The game is free and being stuck with 4 strangers in roles you might not want to play and not being able to leave without punishment is always going to lead to trouble.

  • I'm honestly scared to play on my main account. Due to allchat, I have to mute 9 people if I truly don't want to hear 3rd party stories about how bad I am.

  • I might be done spending money on this game. It's just too risky when a string of bad games can get you banned. Skins are honestly disappointing anyway.

  • I'm a bronze/silver player, so losing a bronze/silver account doesn't mean that much. In fact, I'm kind of glad to know I don't have to deal with that elo for a while.

I think going forward, I have to decide if this game is the game for me. I do not like the various directions this season has taken and so far, next season doesn't look much better. I'm never going to be a pro and I think a lot of times, the game makes me more miserable playing it than I was not playing it.

You wouldn't have gotten banned if you didn't already have a shopping list of valid reports against you, that, and if the most recent report was a valid report.

What evidence do you have to backup this story... You gave us none... Why should people believe some random guy online...

Unless you give us your logs or a red confirms your story you're just gonna get flame here. Either you have no experience on the boards regarding permanent bans, or you're just trolling. Either way good luck...

So how does this argue that "asking for reports isn't successful"?

You didn't put forth any evidence there's a causal relationship either. So there's not really a reason for anyone to give a counterargument. You said you have three examples; you actually have 0. Why? Because as far as you know, only 1 person (not 2-9) reported you in each of those three games. You have no way to tell.

If your argument was "it sucks to have people asking other people to report", then I'd totally agree with you. That's based on feelings and human interaction, and chat is evidence of that.

But the automated ban system doesn't care how many times people say "report this person". It only cares how valid the 1-or-more reports were.

This is weak circumstantial evidence at best. It's closer to saying "about 6 months after it's really hot, it gets really cold. Therefore, it gets really cold because it gets hot." That's not true; they are both caused by the revolution of the earth about the sun and other environmental factors such as latitude. In your case, it's likely that two effects (getting banned and having people say in chat that they should group report your) are both caused by a single factor (you being toxic).

Let me know once you've hacked Riot's report system and can actually count the number of people that reported you per game, and once you hack people's brains so you can determine that they wouldn't have reported you if other people didn't pester them about it.
