Solution for permabanned players

I don't like the system giving out perma bans..it's not ok and will never be ok.

I suggest this.The player that got a permaban, if he can make the players who got him banned,take back their reports( they are part of the comunity and they should decide this) Riot should listen to their case and atleast give them a chance at redemption. According to Riot, they listen to the comunity.Why not make it so?If my report got someone banned, i would love the option to give the guy another chance( if he asks for it), so Riot can then make a decision regarding his ban.Taking into account that the players that reported him, gave him another chance, Riot should atleast give him a trial by fire:)

You don't need a solution when there is no problem, permanent bans are permanent :).

Perma banned players have been banned permanently BECAUSE so many people have reported them and they have been warned on numerous occasions that what they are doing will lead to a perma ban eventually. It is their own fault they cant (or wont) behave in a manner the community deems appropriate.

Regarding the actual idea you had for a player potentially taking back their report, if i logged on one day and got a pop up saying something to the effect of 'your report helped get x player perma banned and he is really really sorry' with an option to take back the report or proceed with the ban, i would click ban 100% of the time and i am fairly certain most people would.

Not to mention that by presenting me with the option to remove my report so they don't get perma banned riot would be breaking their own policy on giving out disiplinary actions taken against an account. (yea currently we sometimes get a popup saying someone has been disciplined but we do not currently know what level of discipline they receive. Where as with this system you know it is a perma ban immediately)

Its an interesting idea for sure. I don't think any kind of apology addresses the reason that perma bans are used in the first place. Which is that riot believes they will continue the negative behavior.

I hate to say it, but there is a system of escalating penalties that take place before a perma ban. The system looks like this:

Warning 1 Day Suspension 3 Day Suspension 7 Day Suspension 14 Day Suspension Perma Ban

Thats 5 chances you get to improve before the ban hammer swings. I think that is plenty of chances to clean up your act. If you don't take the warnings seriously that is your problem and no one elses.

Back in the S1/2 range, they tried the Level 20 challenge. Some players were given the chance to get their permabanned account back if they could level an account from 1-20 without getting punished.

There were no successes (at least, none that I remember hearing about) and they ended the challenge.

Let's just go back to reality for a second here. This is League of Legends Community. Everyone in this community is an a-hole in some way, shape, or form. No one will forgive you. They would actually get a kick out of it seeing that they got someone's time and hard earned money (or their parents in most cases since this is such a childishly moderated game appealing to the under 14 age crowd) thrown out the window.

Not one person from this community would rescind their vote to ban.
