Should language like this warrant a time ban?

This was a guy in pre game chat talking to someone in queue who was in his last game. I reported that to Riot because i felt that someone like that should not be allowed to be playing until he has his shit under control.

I got the standard lines back from Riot "We will investigate your report and take any actions we feel are necessary. Please keep in mind; we cannot disclose any disciplinary actions that may be taken due to privacy reasons" and more of their copy pasta bullshit.

Then i looked at this summoners profile. He is still playing. I dont know if he got a chat res, but he did not get a time ban. Looks like "fucking bronze pieces of shit %%%got %%%%%%s" isn't too strong language in League after all!

apparently the forums think that "%%%got and %%%%%%" are words too strong to display! interesting!!! just to clear that up, one is a slur about homosexuals, the other about Negroes.

Yeah, there's no point in sending in a ticket. They don't do anything. If he talks like that in most of his games, he will eventually get a ban though.

Bans dont happen right away or even on the first incident typically. Normally after 3 or 4 games of being reported the user's case will be sent the the tribunal. However the more people that report these things the faster they will be banned. He might of just of had a bad day or bad game, that being said his case could be in the tribunal as we speak and just be waiting on getting judged.

You do realize there are millions of people playing this game right? Do you honestly expect Riot is going to ban every asshole within a couple minutes?

yes, i actually do expect swift and decisive action when its warranted. @Lyte agrees too. i believe that the shutdown of the tribunal was a mistake. Riot relies too much on the automated system at the moment.

Pretty sure they have already said they are bringing back the tribunal this year with they option to reward good players as well.

That said, I don't think punishments should ever be given out without a thorough review. I'd rather the system take a bit longer than be inaccurate. False positives would absolutely destroy the integrity of the system.

agreed, agreed. but how is this a false positive? there is really no excuse for that kinda language. that's not a slip. It's deliberate.

anyhow, i complained about their crap and the stupid copypasta they sent me and then i got this: "We have a Player Behavior team in place dedicated to working with these requests, so I need to transfer your ticket. A Player Behavior Specialist will be contacting you as soon as they can." so wtf were they doing in the first place? sending copypasta to make a lil hook on the "task done"-list?

It's not. That guy definitely deserves a punishment. However, I'd rather the punishment come a little slower and be more thorough. If it's immediate then there's a chance someone else would get banned when they didn't deserve it.

Yeah, Riot is pretty bad with the automated messages at first. That's definitely a complaint I have about their support system as well. My guess is they don't have many people working in that department and they get a lot of reports.

However, when I have pushed the issue with them they have always made the right decision, it just can take a couple weeks or months for them to finish the investigation.
