ive never afked or left a game in the past year and a half on my main.
why would it tell me ive improved if theres nothing to improve on?

Every day you improve. You are a better person than you were yesterday. Believe in yourself.
I have experienced a lot of worse bugs in this client. Like not being able to pick a role to start a game or not being able to adjust skins in champ select after i locked in. Try submitting a bug report to riot saying you think it was a mistake then email support and ask how it happened.
