A New Idea

Hey Riot. So I just had an idea that I think could be a good thing. I'm no game designer, so whether or not this is possible, I don't know. But I'll put it out there for debate. Everyone hates a feeder. Sometimes, because the person is feeding on purpose and sometimes because they are not good and it's bringing down the team. I know you have an option for reporting feeders, but lets be real. No one gets punished. So here is a possible idea to combat that. It would be something along the lines of the elo system, but it would work separately. Every game, the total kill-death ratio would be logged. If players had a long streak of low kill-death ratios then they would experience something along the lines of being demoted into a "low" priority Que, for say the next 5-10 games. Not the type that makes you wait for 20 minutes to play, but the type that would automatically pair you with people of similar ratios. That way, the people that might feed a lot, or troll feed, would not be in the same games as those who don't. I see this as not only a way to punish the trolls and get them out of the more serious matches, but also a way for those who might not be as good as the people they are with to get in some practice without being yelled at. This wouldn't affect rank at all, that way people couldn't troll low rank. It would be a temporary thing to help new or less experienced players.

That's not a new idea. But it wouldn't work, especially since some roles (like support) would be disproportianately sanctioned. It would also discourage engaging if a player is already borderline on their KDA, they'll abandon the teamfights to avoid getting punished.

The deal is usually as you lose games your MMR is supposed to drop to games the system thinks you can win. Thus either placing you correctly in your Elo or MMR where every game is almost 50/50 win/lose. Which is the intended purpose of ranks and divisions. Also why people say "you are where you deserve to be." People plateau in skill level and are placed correctly. We know sometimes this is not the case. And to lower say, a platinum to a silver priority queue (which happens as I have evidence in my article), sometimes a platinum can't even win those games. Yet many sometimes stay platinum and keep the border even when golds and silvers are beating them. It is of my opinion you can't lower the skill level of a ranked competitive queue to allow people to win, because that in many areas may defeat the purpose of ranked competition altogether.

I felt a similar idea to your own idea, and your idea did highlight a problem of players trolling games, and late in the season trolls are in abundance. I introduced a system called BLP. It made sense. It deals with people on tilt and saves LP loss and raises accountability. Would love to know what you think.

anyway yea, I appreciate people's passion in wanting some better changes to Riot's current system. Now we just need more people to have that passion and lead to further discussion, conversations, and actual actions to making changes.
