Updated: Summoner Name ****inmyoven ---> ****inmyfurnace

I wrote about this earlier, and sent a support ticket, about 3 hours ago. I've rechecked the summoner on the matchlist and the name has now been changed to ****inmyfurnace. Again, I ask - seriously Riot, WTF?

If someone repeatedly picks offensive names despite forced name changes, they may be banned. You can report it in a Support Ticket and just leave it to Riot.

I have NO clue how Riot missed that...

Is it a slur for Jewish people?

I don't understand. What are the first 2 letters? Did the name start with "Jews"?

Ahhhhh. This second thread makes this make a lot more sense now. Yeah, I'll go with this being incredibly offensive, and only being made worse when they changed it to furnace. That is just in utterly horrible taste, and I can't imagine Support being okay with this second name any more than the first.

Update: After a couple days as a random string of numbers, presumably due to intervention by Riot, the account name has now been changed to Jewsinmyapple. Thoughts?

Update your support ticket. They may not have been the ones to force the name change. Maybe the player changes it back and forth before they can be reviewed so that it doesn't catch them.

Either way, letting Riot know that it changed will help them track the account down.

There’s no way they could have a list of names long enough to cover both “****inmyoven” and “****inmyfurnace”.

Those are four word combinations which are generally considered “more secure” (i.e. harder to guess) than passwords of 8 characters with 1 number and special character.

The “brute force” list that’d be necessary to catch all of this type of name would be millions of entries long, and it’d have to be human made because no AI is advanced enough in human language to write offensive text like this reliably.

Just report them for inappropriate name (or if you aren’t in a game with them someone else probably will), and they’ll get banned.

If someone has an offensive name, you report them. Riot will force a name-change. (This part already happened. Good work.)

If they change it to another offensive name, they're likely to receive a punishment if you report it again. I've seen it before.
