I finally did it.

Just played through a game with 3 trolls/flamers and my poor Soraka support just chugging along. Went the entire game without flaming. Now, everyone says this is the way to go, it feels so good, etc. I wish I could share the same experiece, but instead I ended up with 4 fresh cuts on my arm, blacking out from being too pissed, and a new hole from where I threw my chair at the wall. And I still got reported for flaming (because I told our Morgana to push lane when their Leblanc comes bot, or to roam BEFORE we all die). Oh well, life isn't fair and it doesn't have to be. Just thought I'd share another experience as a "reformed" player.
