Doesn't 20 minutes feel like overkill? Why not a shorter 5-10 minutes and just have it so a player has to complete more games to get rid of it?
CONTEXT: My leaves are generally as a result of being forced off the computer by REAL LIFE OBLIGATIONS OR CHORES, not because of any rage-related reasons. Unfortunately, Riot policy is not to give any fucks about reasons, even if it was because someone had a stroke.
Zombiemaster4 votesIf you don't like the punishment, that's good. Punishments are supposed to be like that so as to get you thinking "Hey, maybe I should stop doing what I'm doing so I don't get punished anymore." If you don't like the punishment, you need to stop leaving games.
Also, Leaverbuster punishments already start out at a 5 minute wait for 5 games, then a 10 minute wait for 5 games, then a 20 minute wait for 5 games. if you are at the 20 minute punishment, then you have already gone through the 5 minute and 10 minute punishments, which means that you have left a large amount of games. Once you get to this point, you really only have yourself to blame because there's definitely something that you could be doing to prevent yourself from leaving games so often.

They actually have chopped a set of Ethernet cables in half on one occasion to get me to stop playing. Only reason I'm forced to stay with them is due to our shitty economy and lack of jobs.

You make like no one else has to suffer from real life problems, although i wouldnt consider that a problem since its just chores. finish them and then play your games. we all had to do that growing up. you only have yourself to blame!

For instance, I get called upon to bring in frozen food and I'm NOT given warning ahead of time on WHEN the groceries are coming in. What the hell are you supposed to do about that? Let the food spoil? I'd be kicked out.
Or an instance where I have to feed the dogs (and give one Insulin), but no one else can do it because they're taking care of my brother's baby boy. Can't really not go AFK in that circumstance, right?
Then again, why would you give a fuck?

They have specifically designed Leaverbuster with built in leniency so you don't get punished for the occasional real life emergency. You only get punished once you show a habit of leaving multiple games. As I stated before, reaching the 20 minute punishment means that you have left a large number of games.
Now, if the majority of these games you left were due to real life emergencies that need your immediate attention, then maybe you should stop playing this game for the time being. I know that's blunt and I'm sorry, but if these real life emergencies are happening often enough to where you get a Leaverbuster punishment, then perhaps the environment around you isn't quite stable enough right now for you to play online multiplayer games that require your undivided attention.

Telephone Booth1 votesDamn it goes up to 20 minutes? I've never had one that long. You must leave consistently enough that it went up n up. I get a 5 minute wait every once n a while but never had 20.
