If your toxic in chat why don't you just get a perma chat restriction?

I don't think anyone should be perma banned for being toxic. if your perma ban them from chat it solves the whole problen :/ I don't get it really

Permanent chat restrictions don't work on toxic players. They just move their toxicity to their gameplay and other things (such as pings) instead, which is far worse because you can't mute feeding. That's why they changed the punishment for verbal abuse so chat restrictions don't just infinitely stack and it moves to a ban instead.

hello how are you ? do you remember me :)...pls if you can check my games with replay system(riot dont have it sorry) i never ping or troll in one game i give my 100% in every game my bad for me is only i flame in chat because someone troll or feed...i know other guys do that never troll and some of them are so very good players and pro players too(?? you know what i mean) that the only bad think for the is the flame in chat...perma ban some player who are so good and give his 100% is unfair because knew the game and play it with love but you can ban him for some time or ban him his chat so he cant flame others in game...this is my opinion and i think this is clear more fair for players with good attitude general in this game but toxic because some other players or for their false attitude against them...thanks for your time :)

Well I kinda wish Riot would give us all a (Mute All Button) at the start of the game like in (Heroes OF The Storm) they put it there to help prevent toxicity it says (Click here to disable allied chat.)

I think players should have enough common sense not to say hateful things at least most of the chat toxicity I see in games is the hard hatred stuff, the AFKing, and the players who just don't listen at all it makes things very difficult sometimes.

Which leads to other things, not all toxicity is chat based, take for example I said in at least 3-4 of my games that I personally played in that I fed, and did bad in before getting my suspension ( I am just going to play on the turret, and play defensively) Why my ADC players choose to be toxic not listen push the entire creep wave out and keep auto attacking is beyond me, there is only one game where players did not do this instead they left the lane and went top, and I went 2v1 and the game was won because I played defense on the turret, they didn't want to play that way apparently but they were running builds and stuff I did not agree with or feel comfortable going full offense with because doing such would mean I would just feed a lot which is why most my games go bad sometimes.

Then you got actual Intentional Feeding, and Going AFK, along with excessive surrender spam votes, I absolutely hate this like if you are going to surrender just ask once keep spamming surrender and going AFK is toxic.

Like with the toxicity I see daily when I played league the amount of players I just muted at the start of most games was high, because players want to argue, players want to make cancer comments, and say those hurtful things which have no place in this game like its common sense not to do this, although if I personally don't mute players then I am going to Argue all game long and I can't even focus on the game, because honestly under certain conditions if I am lucky enough to get ahead even with the toxicity I can do a lot better.

edit: speaking of toxic pings they should bring back the option to mute players pings as well lick when the game first was released maybe 3-4 years ago or longer players used to have this option.

From Understanding the Tribunal:

5) Low skill players should be banned from the game! The Tribunal should only ban Leavers/AFK and intentional feeders, those are the only types of players that really ruin games! a) No. Just no. Jerks ruin games. League of Legends is for everyone whether they are 500 Elo or 2500 Elo. It's not a game for jerks.

I would be fine with that, but riot has spoken out against prisoners island many times.

I hate chat restrictions. They punish everyone in the games they are in by limiting communication. Personally I also consider them to be taking up slots in my games that could have and should have gone to players I want to play with.

That's Prisoners Island, and Riot has already stated many times in the past that they're not gonna do that kind of thing.

That may work for some people but unfortunately perma chat restrictions don't work on everyone. For the most dedicated trolls they'll just adjust their trolling to fit their gameplay and/or troll via ping spamming. For those kinds of players an actual account ban is needed for them to get the hint that trolling in any form is not allowed period.

the players who banned for toxic or flame are good players and never troll in this game...especially they banned because flame trolls of this game and they try their best for the team but they are toxic against trolls...you dont have right here and i challenge if riot has replay system of the game you can see that i will never troll or feed in game and i try my best and some other guys who banned too are so good players...you are off of topic because riot doesnt give a fuck and dont give us full chat log and replay system...

You are not the majority of all people who have ever been banned though.

Riot has tried a lot of things. People have effectively been perma chat restricted, Riot used bans of varying lengths, and there even used to be a way to unban your permanently banned accounts by showing enough dedication towards reforming. Bottom line: None of these really worked, because they all just add unnecessary lenience towards a particular group of people that statistically speaking has about a 1% chance of actually reforming. It's not worth it, when you consider all the innocents suffering from the 99% not being banned right away.

Trolls and afks are no excuse for your behaviour. (Won't dive into this, as it is explained by pretty much everybody (including various redposts) in half of the threads on this forum.

Trolls are also more difficult to detect. If you have an idea how to fix the issue with the trolls, I'm sure Riot will be happy to listen to your suggestion.

this is one of my point when you cant kick trolls out of the game(riot) why ban the flamers first that the majority of them flame this trolls or afkers ? this is unfair that i said in all my post here...i deserve punishiment for my flame i know that but not PERMA BAN...if this game is clear for troll afk elo boosting scripts etc you can say that you must be perma and only good players played but now when so many trolls ruined everyday why ban only flamers and PERMA ? unfair world my mother told me :)

I actually had a discussion with someone about this recently. Allow me to summarize my position in that discussion:

Players who are toxic in chat will likely find having that "voice" silenced to be a point of further frustration - rather than solving their problem (frustration/anger/whatever), the chat ban would exacerbate it, while at the same time removing their previous method of expressing that anger/frustration.

This is most likely to lead them to find new ways of expression - new methods of "acting out," as it were. It's not a particularly significant leap to shift from badgering people in chat to using game mechanics to ruin their game experience.

In the long run, they'd most likely still earn a perma-ban, but only after getting more time to ruin more games.
