A very problematic situation with the Tristana voting skinline (maybe a rioter can add their thought

It seems that sugar rush is in the lead which surprised me at first, because I thought for sure that she would be outclassed by the other two

But then I finally realized what had happened. The people who voted for sugar rush enjoy the cute skin like it provides.

HOWEVER. Demon Tristana and Galaxy BOTH share the same aggressive theme that Tristana players love.

THATS THE PROBLEM. one group of people are stuck between demon and galaxy ( the aggressive line)

and the other group only have 1 skin to vote for which is candy (the cuter skin line)

demon and galaxy voters are CLEARLY split up. which prevents them from winning over the candy rush skin line.

She's already got a spacey, sci-fi skin in Rocket Girl, two if you could Omega Squad, and then she's already got tons of edgy skins like Guerilla and Buccaneer. That's not even counting the fact that Demon is associated with the Halloween skins (of which she has Bewitching) and making Tristana shoot fire is nothing new, as she already does that in Dragon Trainer. So overall, the most unique concept is Sugar Rush, which is a unique aesthetic to Tristana that has the most potential for more diverse particles we haven't seen yet, as well as overloading us with a sickeningly cute version of Tristana that only Earnest Elf brushes up against.

That, and it would also align her with Lulu and Poppy, who also have candy themed skins.

Yes, that's not how people usually use "edgy". However, he's using it as a wide of a category as "aggressive" so it's not unfair, just lacking of a better word for the situation. I understand the overall point even if I disagree with what word he ended up choosing and his conclusions as to what is edgy and how it's defined.

Sugar Rush has major problems, It looks too much like Annie, It has a fleshy skin tone, it doesn't fit Tristana's voice overs or idle animations. You aren't voting on just a concept this will be an IN GAME skin, Just because the picture looks good doesn't mean it will work IN GAME. And the votes are absolutely being split between the other two.

I can think of a whole host of skins that don't exactly work with the voice lines or idle animations. Plus, these are PRELIMINARY sketches, and not what the actual skin will look like. So even if it DOES resemble Annie, it may lose those features further down the line. And also, who says candy themed skins can't be military themed skins? The Nutcracker is what immediately comes to mind when I think of a land of candy and sweetness with a military, as does the quirky characters like Ginger in the Wizard of Oz. So a Candy Rush skin can absolutely work with Tristana.

Couldn't have said it better myself. She doesn't have many "funny" skins and I definitely would like to see more along the silly line rather than the serious line. If you want a serious skin, you have 4 options already.

I think it's a bit too early to tell, but I also think that you're putting too much emphasis on one line being "cute" and the other two being "aggro". You actually saw a similar thing with the Illaoi skin: She got two "serious" skins (Resistance/Space Infection) and one "silly" skin (Explorer) yet the serious skin won out in the end.

That said, I'm all for having up to 5 "skin ideas" next time Riot wants to do this: Two serious, Two silly and one "Wildcard" that's an out of left field pick.

I agree, honestly. :( As a Tristana main, I don't want Sugar Rush. I'm sorry but I don't like it. It doesn't suit her. I want Demon or Galaxy. I hate Sugar Rush Tristana's hair, her expression, her outfit, her color scheme... none of it looks like Tristana. Why does she have a bob with dreads? Why doesn't she have a cute hot pink pixie cut? and why is her skin yellow? And is she Cait now? Why does she have a top hat?

She's a militant but playful champion; she isn't cutesy in the way that Sugar Rush provides. And its frustrating to me because the other two fit her personality sooo much better. The particle affects on her hair could be so cute for Little Demon and the problem of her gun being too similar to Dragon Trainer is very fixable.

No. I'm complaining about a skin that doesn't fit a champion's personality. There's a huge difference. If you look at skins that have been released, you can clearly see that each one fits with in the skin's world as well as with the champion's personality. Sugar Rush Tristana does not fit Tristana's personality and I don't want it to be her new skin just because people saw "CUTE!" and claimed it was unique; its not. Its just generic loli sweets fashion slapped on a character who is historically, lore wise, and personality generally very spunky, tomboyish, rugged, and feisty. It does not fit with her at all and is the least interesting option and also the absolute laziest.

If they wanted to do sweets, the could have made her Salty Sweet or Sour Sweet or even did something with a Pop Rocks theme. No. Instead they slapped pastel, Lolita fashion on her and expected it to work and it doesn't. But it will win regardless because its what people think is "cute and unique."

Edit: OR they could have even used like... a Red Hots Theme. That would have been more unique and more interesting when you said Tristana and Sweets.

Yes, because skins like Gentleman Cho'gath, Definitely Not Udyr, Moo Cow Alistar & Snowman Yi completely fits with the personality of the base champs. Let's not act like Trist is the 1st champ to get a skin that doesn't matches their personality. I don't know about you, but skins don't HAVE to completely fit the champs personality. They're about exploring different themes & fantasies with the character. Yes, this does mean that they can get skins that might not fit their base versions.

Sugar Rush Tristana does not fit Tristana's personality and I don't want it to be her new skin just because people saw "CUTE!" and claimed it was unique; its not. It's unique TO TRIST. That's why people want because Trist doesn't a skin like Sugar Rush. It's completely different from the rest of her skins. No one is saying this hasn't been done before. They're saying it hasn't been done with Trist before.

And most importantly, not of this shit is final. If it wins the vote, Sugar Rush is still subject to change & will look quite different once the final product rolls around.

Oh & before I forget, calm down. It's just a damn skin for a champ who already have 8 or 9 skins. This isn't Illaoi where we're voting for her 1st skin post release. Trist already have an expansive catalog of skins for you to enjoy. Don't like Sugar Rush? Great, go play with one of her other skins while those who do like Sugar Rush will play it.

I wish people would get out of this mindset. Skins aren't meant to "fit the personality", that's why they're skins. Justicar Syndra and Aatrox , Arclight Yorick , SG Jinx , all don' "fit" their personality, they are polar opposite, and in different universes. If every skin fit their champions personality, then there would be no reason for skins. Though some champions get skins pertaining to their concept because they are easy to create Karthus , Nami , Leona etc.

That's just a preview of what the skin COULD look like. Just like how Resistance Illaoi turned out nothing like her preview, after Sugar Rush wins it will most likely go through a lot of changes improving the appearance.

No, these are concept arts; these are a basic idea of what you're going to get. And what I can see is completely unlikable and boring and just a slap together of basic loli fashion instead of something unique to Tristana. I hate the hair(ringlets are more Annie's thing than Trist's), I hate the color scheme, I hate the dress, I hate the expression, I hate that the lore is boring and lame, and I hate that this skin is going to win over two skins that match her personality a lot more.

Her hairstyle/dress will change
Her color scheme will change, or there will be a variety of chromas to choose from (which may also change her hair)
Her lore will be fleshed out into something much better, just like how Battlecast Illaoi turned into Resistance Illaoi

Who said I voted for Galactic? For starters, it isn't the same at all to those skins. Omega Squad is closer to a better version of Guerilla for one. For two, Rocket Girl is a different skin from both of us.

Third of all, they will not go through and change all of that on release and you know that. Even if there are chromas, it will not change the hair style; she'll be stuck with those godawful ringlets that are terrible.

Fourth of all, and I've explained this, I'm complaining because it does not match her personality in the slightest and they were furthermore, lazy with the design. Exceptionally so. Like, Ivern, Poppy, and Lulu's sweet skins are far more unique and interesting than Tristana's and are focused on more interesting things. Was it honestly that hard to come up with a spunky sweets skin and put real effort into it instead of just using generic Lolita fashion?

I disagree that the skin won't go through changes. I never would have said it would unless I knew it was a high chance.

There's nothing wrong with a skin changing a champion's personality with a skin. Jinx changes, Soraka changes, pretty much every champion has a skin that alters their personality, Tristana even already has Bewitching. You're judging the entire skin based off of one quick sample picture, and that's extremely unfair.

I disagree with your post. The galaxy and demon are not both the same type of skin. Demon is much more fantasy/whimsical while the other one more futuristic. They fill distinct niche each. No point in being a sore loser from the start.

Sugar Rush is close to Riot Girl tho. The Demon skin based on the art we got is the most unique, the Gun is a place holder.

I will say that I personally prefer Sugar Rush anyways, but on mobile it appears first in the voting screen and some people might vote for it on accident while trying to scroll to the other options.

Riot Tristana is my favorite skin as well... which is why I abhor Sugar Rush. :/ She is not a pink ringlets kind of girl. She's a tomboy. Why isn't her design for sugar rush more sour instead of sweet? She's spunky, feisty, and aggressive. Give the Sugar Rush skin a feel like that and maybe I would have liked it.

This isn't even mentioning how it has the weakest, lamest lore.

Keep in mind that it's still the first concept art, it can be changed to a more agressive candy skin if it's the choosed theme.

The best about Riot Tristana is that my duo supp absolutely hates that skin so I use it to trigger him.

Yeah and they didn't change much for the Illaoi skin that won outside of the parts that made people vote for it(namely the awesome hand tentacles). They'd need to do so much work with candy to make me remotely like it. Get rid of the dumb hat, give her a pixie or super short bob cut, get rid of the dress(its boring and lame and looks more like a dress Annie would wear, not a rough and tumble chick like Trist), make her skin less yellow, make her hair hot pink instead of light pink, get rid of the dumb expression... Like the only redeeming quality of that skin is that her gun is cool. .-.

For that matter, why didn't they do like a pop rocks theme? That would have been stinkin' cute and amazing.

But no, Riot Girl Tristana is super cute. She has such a cute outfit, a cute hair cut, I like her gun and her nails(even if you can't see them in the actual model), the expression works very well for her, her barrets are cute... just everything about it looks like Tristana glammed up for a raging good party. And it works good.

I believe Deep Space Illaoi was also winning reddit straw polls. The reddit users simply aren't a proper cross-section of the playerbase who will vote. Given the massive difference in results for Illaoi between reddit strawpolls and reality, I would say this data is actually completely worthless for predicting.

Hat they should do is take the top theme winner apply it to trist. Then take the two concepts that lose and apply them to characters with a lack of skins. I bet people would be pleasantly surprised by a space themed skin or a demon themed ornn.
