Can we get this sort of behavior punished? I feel like this happens a lot more than it should.

So I was playing MasterYi top against a DrMundo . I take summoner 14 summoner 12 because I figure I'll need it to 1v1 him. I start off around level 3 getting hard camped by their MonkeyKing and avoid dying for the most part, I think I died twice during this time but I also got a kill.

After my second death, I recall and buy, then head back to lane. DrMundo is greedy so I chase him into the river where my jungler Vi is waiting, doing rift herald (note: up to this point she had refused to countergank or apply map pressure anywhere when I was being camped, or even so much as to gank my lane).

So I figure DrMundo is dead, since Vi is here. Nope.

She uses her Q to get over the wall and leaves. I get mundo down to ~150 hp with 1 second left on alpha strike. He kills me, because somehow his ult lasts that long. (mundo was 100% dead if she even so much as sneezed on him). I then ask her why she did that.

Vi replied: "you kept crying for ganks all game so I didn't help you".

Which, by the way, was not true. I asked ONCE for a gank when she was topside and DrMundo was low (she didn't gank btw) and that was when I was being camped (but not behind).

For the rest of the game Vi says stuff like "lol go ahead and report me its not against the rules to not help".

However she lost us rift herald, a tower, and the ensuing teamfight. Isn't that considered griefing?

She deliberately decided to let me die, not getting a free kill AND rift herald. And we do end up losing the game. I don't think that was the only reason we lost, but it was a huge part of it. Everyone else on the map was pretty much even at that point, maybe slightly behind, but not so far behind as to make top and jungle useless. (Vi was 1/6 by the end of the game with her only completed items being her item 3047 and item 1400). I however ended the game with a score of 6/7/4, easily double her cs, and item 3006 item 3153 item 3022 .

I've reported this guy and I can assure you he won't be banned. I can submit as many tickets as I want, but this type of behavior will continue to go unpunished.

I've tried explaining this to rito 100x and quite simply put... boards moderators and most of boards community has their heads in the sand. As far as they are concerned... anything like this can be explained away and pardoned as "bad game" or "new player". The only things that can get you punished are cheating and flame/toxic chat. I can run it down lane against my 12/0/2 opponent and keep trying to 1v1 them or even just cs a bit while I run to my 13th death and I'm not intentionally feeding. Because I "fought back" or "was just trying to get some cs" and I "didn't know I'd lose". Those are literally the excuses I've heard for stuff like what that vi did or for people trying to 1v3 as a 0/7/0 adc vs 3 fed assassins where the adc RAN AT (not got chased by or dove or ambushed) the 3 assassins.

That's why I say people have their head in the sand. Sadly rito seems to think the same way as them too. As far as they are concerned... it would be ok to say... tackle or punch someone in a soccer game, but if you say something rude because you're sick of people punching and harassing and tackling you illegally in the soccer match and not being given a yellow or red card for it... then hell's fury will descend on you and you will get a yellow or red card for saying anything to that player. Stupid way to run a game if you ask me. You'd think you would make an effort to get rid of toxic behavior at the source (punching in soccer; inting or griefing in league) rather than just attack the side effects of allowing such behavior to exist unchecked (the soccer player who retaliates; the league player who says something regrettable after 4+ games in a row of 20+ min apiece of being screwed over, harassed, and seeing nothing done to punish such shitty play by their teammate(s)). But no... let's keep that stuff in the game cuz we don't want to turn players away from this game. They keep it up and go further and further in this direction and all they'll be left with is the troll toxic players that you and I take issue with and new players who will soon want to quit because they're tired of being with said trolls every game. Well that and masters+ players or wherever such troll players become less frequent to the point you don't see them in 7+ game streaks.

Doing anything to lose on purpose is considered trolling, and should be punished with a 14 day ban on the first offense. Considering that they essentially confessed in chat, I do hope that you reported them.

/edit I see you did report them. Then, I hope they receive a punishment.

Not helping isnt a punishable offense in itself. But their actions can be borderline griefing. It's hard to tell with just what happened in this game, if I was reviewing this game, I'd probably need a few more games to determine if this is a consistent behavior.

To many matches, too many players, and too much of a minor offense.

Your best bet to play league nowadays is to join a community.

for a jungler to explicitly saying that they refuse to gank count has griefing.

i wouldnt gank you either with those sums. i would assume you wouldnt know much about this game and find other lanes/ways to win
