Why is calling your teammates bad punishable but ""ggez" isn't?

Legitimate question out of curiosity, not complaining about being banned or anything. In the end, both serve the same purpose: informing other players that they suck for no good reason, only difference being at which team it is aimed. Would even argue the latter is worse since it can understandable that a player might be tilted at an underperforming teammate costing them the game while rubbing it onto your opponents after an already finished game really just means you are an asshole.

So, why is calling your teammates bad considered toxic enough to warrant a punishment but calling your opponents bad isn't?

It's unsportsmanlike definitely, but it's usually not enough to warrant a punishment by itself. When said alongside other examples of often more negative behavior though it can often help push a case into punish worthy territory if that makes sense.

usually ggez is only uttered once mainly at the end of the game

usually calling your teammates bad doesn't really end at "you suck" (if this is all you said, it would be very difficult to be punished for it unless you do it every game). When someone call their teammates bad, they follow it up with 10+ other lines of similar flame/harassment/rank shaming/kda shaming.

GGEZ really has taken on a life of its own as a meme - the majority of times I see GGEZ is by the losing team having some fun at their own expense by saying it.

You wont get banned for saying your team mates are bad. You get banned when you flame and spam chat with insults, so the you cant compare the 2.
