Brutally honest is "you're not playing well this game" said once. Harassing is saying "you are a shit player" many times, in many ways. There's a difference.

That is very true. But I'd then try to follow up such honesty with constructive criticism and try to help them (somehow) salvage a bad situation if at all possible.

But I'm not perfect either. I can only do so much.

As long as you are polite, when saying it, I see no problem with that, but you may want to temper the brutality. While in some situations it is necessary, most situations should be handled with a bit of grace.

If you reported him, then he got a minimum 14 day ban, and a permaban if he's had previous punishment. If multiple people reported him (which is likely) then only one person gets notified that their report resulted in a punishment.

Sorry they said that to you. That does sound pretty rough, and it's disappointing when players saying that don't get immediately punished.

That being said, players are punished based on severity and frequency, as were you. This player might not have been punished with your report, but if he were truly as bad as you say, he'll be punished soon enough.
