Blocking does abosutely nothing...

Blocking a player does nothing at all, when it should do many many things.

I recently played a game with a player who damn near ended world hunger single handed, and then flame the living shit out of us then entire game. Slinging curse words like they were an 8 year old who just learned them all. At the end of the game he continues the flame in the post-game lobby. By this point I've had enough. So I block him, and what happens over the next 5 min is astounding.

  1. he continues flaming, AND I CAN STILL SEE IT? Blocking should work something like how facebook does it. If i block someone, I LITERALLY dont exist to that person anymore. They cant find my page, they cant see my comments, and I cant see theirs. Now that may be hard to do, but its just a general example.
  2. 3 minutes later I get him on my team again. Great stuff... aaaaand he recognizes me. aaaaand the flame starts again before the game even starts. And during the game I am constantly bombarded with pings due to the fact that im not responding to him because i muted him in game asap.

Why does blocking another player even exist if i can still get in a game with him on my team, and i cant still have a full conversation with him in and out of the game. Ooooh woooo he cant be on my friends list. Well of course he cant because why the hell would i ever put that kind of person on there. I believe something needs to be done about what "blocking" actually does.

Blocking cannot stop you from being matched with players, yes there's 60+ Million in league but that's spread across all servers and it has to find people that are around the same MMR as you be it normal or ranked modes. It cannot just push everyone away every time you find someone that you feel is toxic to you or another person, then there'd be almost nothing left in the end to play with or against.

As in still seeing it, I've had it happen but that was cause I previously muted them and ran into them in another game and it removed the block but still showed up as a block cause they had it registered as me having blocked the person. Most of the time it's when the block list is just full it cannot keep blocking people.

Worst part is you keep on hearing the ping spam.

Sometimes when a player is very salty, he can spam you with friend request. Blocking prevents that.
