Silver strategies - Won a game by being toxic - 14 day suspension - no regrets

I won a game by employing a strategy that has resulted in a 14 day ban.

Everything was going great in the game but as most people know, the question of "when can we end?" isn't a question people tend to know the answer to. Personally, it drives me insane when people don't end the game when they have a lead. Or they take risks when it isn't necessary. It's like raiding in WoW (haven't done it in years but it still applies) people will follow the mechanics of the raid until the last 10-15% and then just try to burn the boss resulting in usually a wipe. Follow the mechanics all the way to the end.

The game could have realistically been ended at around 17 - 19 minutes. Instead my team decided they didn't want to group, and for the next few minutes up til 27 minutes our gold lead had been significantly diminished due to "heros". I had an idea at this point, the idea that "nothing focuses the mind better than a noose", and with that thought in mind I decided to start being toxic towards my team. I said things like, "I'm done, you guys won't group, so I'm gonna just sit around in base." I basically played EXTREMELY defensively but avoided getting kills or into fights. Just farm the jungle and sit back. This forced my, now 4man team, to group and mount an effort to end the game. However, I knew that even if I did group, we wouldn't end the game so grouping would result in a stale mate. We also had a shaco who was extremely determined to win by backdooring. So I continued to ignore my team until their pleas turned to hate, lasted about 30s. At this point it's about 37 minutes into the game. Shaco manages to back door an inhib and they lose both nexus turrets around 44 minutes. At this point I know it's time to finish the enemy team off so I begin taunting them openly in all chat, egging them to attack the base and end the game. I think a direct quote was, "What is it with people in this elo who can't group and end a game, stop going for kills, and end this game already! You're all pathetic!" I basically told them how much they suck considering I haven't done anything for the past 15 minutes, which I had, I was warding for the team and clearing wards and farming the jungle. This causes my entire team, as planned, to join all chat and bash me, telling me I will be chat restricted. They 5 man group, and we defend 3v5. I die as the game ends, shaco back doors the enemy nexus, mission complete.

Team still didn't believe me when I tried to explain it to them, their minds are still blown from it. And judging by the ban Riot doesn't approve either.

TLDR: I don't approve of toxic behavior but sometimes it's helpful to manipulate those to do what you want. All in all, I'd do it again. I won, and that's all that matters in ranked for a single game.

The key thing you're missing is, you don't know what would have happened had you NOT done that. You may have won at 33 minutes, instead of 44. Or you may have lost. Your toxicity won you a 14 day ban, not the game. Your toxicity was a factor with unidentified consequences (other than the ban) due to the fact that you can't go back in time and see what would have happened if you didn't start flaming. Science is a bitch like that. You don't get to conclude that it was your toxicity that won the game. You did not follow the scientific method.

Congratulations. You got nothing out it. Enjoy it while unable to play the game, kid.

I don't think negative reinforcement is a popular method. You could have done everything you explained with /muteall too since you adapted your playstyle and forced your team to do the same to accommodate you.

I could understand the benefits of "acting like you were toxic" to a small degree, so long as your teammates were behind it with you. If they weren't, or it were excessive towards enemies, I don't think you should sit behind "the ends justify the means," because there's many paths to victory in League of Legends, and few, if any, of them involve toxicity, and more involve overcoming it.

You've shared your logs in a previous post about a chat restriction. Why didn't you do it this time?
