Do you feel the game sufficiently punishes AFkers?
If so, what's your reasoning?
If not, what would you suggest?

Yep. I don't mind people AFKing if something comes up that they need to attend to. Everyone needs to AFK once in a while, and I'd rather not have someone get banned because they had to leave a game to stop a toaster fire.
Anyone who is afk more than 3 times per year should have their account permabanned. It feels like a quarter of the games I play have a leaver, and its just been getting worse these past few years.
I think if your going to report them, you do need to look at the whole picture and the out come of the game, if you won with no real complications, no, but if that person being afk made the game extend a whole 20+ min, yea.
Riot does punish those who afk very often but for those who rarely afk for the first time don't recieve punishment its ignored 1st time then 2nd time they make you say I Agree
If you don't afk for quite a while Riot will send a notification saying you have not been leaving games often keep it up then restarts
