Has anyone ever got what they "wanted" out of hextech

This feels like an odd question to ask but has anyone ever gone into the hextech crafting looking for a certain skin, for example I want the purple cait skin (it's name escapes me) that is only available during lunar revel. I would rather not wait this long for that skin but it also seems insane to purchase a ton of chests for 1 skin that probably won't drop. I suppose my question is has anyone ever actually done something like this annnnnd did it work XD
