Smurfs vs new players

my recommendation is just play bots for a while (when you first start at least, at your level its honestly too late and would be counterproductive). you don't get smurfs much in bots, and when you do typically they aren't going to crap on you and call you a noob.

I had thought about that, but trying out LoL bots I was highly disappointed. I played DOTA for a little bit, and those things are controlled by Satan. They were harder than many human players I played for a good while. In League, I felt like I was getting super sloppy in bots. I wasn't warding, I was constantly overextending, I was fighting things I always had 2-3 levels on and a third more gold...I just thought too much bots would make me a bad player.

If League actually had some real bots, I totally would have done that. I don't know how Riot can fix the smurf issue, but it's pretty freaking horrific. I just finished a match where the Fizz had 40 kills and just wrecked all the enjoyment out of the game. And the worst part is, I don't know if I learned anything from it. At least if I had an idea how to fight Champion X now, I could take that from it.

I have over 1200 PvAI wins. I can report the occasional smurf slamming a teammate's skills. (Personally, I don't get it. I go to bots to get 30-0 scores; having weak teammates means more delicious minced AI for me.)

Actually, most of the smurfs I have come across have been super helpful and have taken the time after games to give me some hints or answer questions if I picked a champ they are good with. Most smurfs (in my experience) are in bots to have a relaxing game or try something outside the meta for fun. I have gotten the occasional raging smurf (who likes to remind you constantly they are a smurf), but watching the ragers play makes me think they are a smurf for a Bronze V account or a flat out liar.
