Nami is love. Nami is life. I'm really surprised she's not more popular. Glad she isn't though; getting your main picked or banned away sucks :(

What about you? Would love to see some of your own play. Doesn't have to be anything spectacular. I use BaronReplays to record my matches (replay files are very small, and aren't raw video), and for creating a gif I use Gyazo. For recording raw footage I use Nvidia's Shadowplay, or if you don't have an eligible video card, Fraps.

I main Leona . Playing her always brightens up my team because of how well I do. I just love being the shining support that radiates good sportsmanship in balance with good skills. Plus getting a 5 man stun on her ult just lights up the perfect initiation.

I absolutely love her kit
I can make stupid puns with her name. (Got the right Quinntessences?)
I love the way she looks. (Not sexualized)
She is highly underrated.

I like, and guess I could main, Quinn . Her kit just feels so nice, and it feels kinda satisfying to proc those harrier marks and become a bird to chase down those low health enemies that barely survive killing your teammate(s).

MissFortune actually, the first champion I mained was Sona Support/Mid and I could play every role but ADC and I disliked the role in general to play as. I bought Twitch as my first ADC and did terribly, and Miss Fortune as my second and also did terribly. Eventually I came back to playing Miss Fortune and got fed with her going like 7-1. Eventually I fell in love with her kit, and I really like her lore and personality. Now It's pretty common for me to go something like 25-8 with her and I like how she's underestimated until I get a pentakill or two with her and one shot their ADC.

I main Viktor . And not because of some LCS thing mind you. I played him from the time before his rework. Though wonky, he did things that I found to be interesting. Build him Bruiser, build him support (as much as that went horribly), build him mid... The way the enemy team ran away while slowly being burned to death... those were the good days. Now he can melt an entire team down without giving them a chance to react, or make them hesitant to engage in a lock-down teamfight. He's an absolute glass cannon and one that you might not be able to touch.

I like his lore too. Being scammed by his fellow scientist in Zaun. I can only wonder what sort of relationship he had with Blitzcrank before credits went to Stanwick.

Shaco everything about him. His lore, his mystery though I really wanna know more about his demonic origins. His abilities and how much people hate him. He is like a more out there and murderous joker and it feels rewarding when you play it well enough to end a game within 10 or 20 minutes. No other champ speaks to me like this :3

Here's an odd question. Define "looks". The model? The VO? The concept of the character? For instance, a character like Aatrox. His lore is poorly written but has an interesting concept... "eternal spirit of war that sews violent conflict wherever he goes". Ok, cool idea. His voice over work is bland as shit, but the IDEA of it is fine... He's not a raging monster... he speaks of battle as if it was art. His look I LOATHE. Riot should have gone with an archtypical demon IMO. Instead he looks like the genderless lovechild of Marilyn Manson and Lady Gaga with a spikey sex-toy as a weapon (it even wobbles!), torn curtains for wings and a goofy helmet covering up his lack of a nose. His kit is bland, boring and generic as all hell too... he's budget Tryndamere. In the case of Aatrox the ONLY thing I like about him is his concept. I loathe the champ and am disappointed that the potentially cool thing in that lore of his got turned into the champ we got.

In any case, my POINT was... concept isn't really "lore". I like Tahm's concept, but I won't pretend Riot writes lore anymore. He's a wheeling, dealing devil who lures in the unwary, makes promises and then twists those promises. That concept is cool. Very "Old Scratch making deals at the crossroads". The catfish/frog thing is... different, but I like his look. I wouldn't say that's what drew me to him tho. It's his CONCEPT. The idea behind him. And it's how well they realized that concept in his kit. In truth, I wish he and Kali had mechanics to make accepting their "help" a double edged sword, like it's supposed to be... but I see why that is a bad idea from a design perspective.

The thing that draws me most to a champ is what they're about and how well they reinforce that with the champ's lore, look, VO, skills and aesthetics. I can't really limit it to one thing. For instance... I hate Corki. Corki is strong as hell, but I find him freakin' goofy and not in the fun GP "YARRRRRR, I be a PIRATE!" way. He feels like he doesn't belong in the setting. His kit is also a weird mush of things that don't synergy very well. Ok, so he's a poke champ with his R, but his Q and E are only really useful up close... and he's an adc but he mostly does magic damage so get Sorc shoes... yadda yadda. He's a mess. Add in that I dislike his design and... well... I don't play Corki. I dislike his concept, and that colors me poorly on the rest of him.

For me, there are three types of "mains" I have.

1.) Champions I play primarily because I'm too good with them not to, but who I don't know if I would bother with otherwise. Garen , for example. Have hundreds of matches with him and almost never have a legitimately bad match, but I only enjoy playing when I'm doing well. 2.) Champions I play because their kit fits me and my playstyle perfectly. Ekko , for example. His kit's such a grab bag that it has nearly everything I could ever want. Aside from that, meh. 3.) Champions who have it all, Amumu and TahmKench being the two key examples. They have, for me, the best and most memorable personalities in the game. Their kits are strong, well thought out, and consistent. They look great, particularly with the Surprise Party Amumu and Master Chef Tahm skins. They're both perfect fits for me and my playstyle. And, to top it all off, I don't know of two champions I did better with starting out. Barely played Amumu before taking him to ranked, yet went 8-2 (80%). Then, with Tahm, I've gone 9-5 (64.29%) in the normals I've played.

It goes without saying that I'm most loyal to the third type, and least loyal to the first type, however.

Nami is fantastic. Wish I had some of the things that I've done recorded, I've had some good/lucky plays. I think style of play should be an option as well, for a long time I've preferred junglers that are primarily auto attacks based that build bruiser (think Nocturne and XinZhao .) Not that I don't like tanky junglers or straight up assassins, I just like to be the flank or follow up initiator.

I main and I have been playing her since release. Is probably the only champion I have bough during its release week. Just the idea of the gauntlets (the most similar to a knuckler I wil have on LoL) and the attitude of punching first and ask question later got me. It's a shme is she is currently so popular... she is banned 70% of my games

I feel bad since they're quite controversial lately, but Jinx and speak to me (as well as Ekko too). I like them because of their lore and their attitude. Jinx is a lunatic who likes blowing shit up, and Vi is a big boomy fist lady who punches people through the roof. And all three of them have amazing theme songs that I can listen to while playing them, not to mention that there's so many hints on how they're connected I can't help but feel that Gypsylord is secretly working with Narrative on the most epic Piltover/Zaun event in history that's going to make me forget all about the retcon.

I also enjoy Syndra because Syndra is bae. Well, Zed's bae.
