Riot should gather and release statistics on how often failed 3-2 Surrender votes result in a win

Every so often I see a thread demanding that Riot changes the minimum vote count for a successful surrender from a supermajority to a simple majority, so that 3 yes votes pass. That crowd isn't very big, but they're there.

I suggest that Riot shows us how many games would have been thrown if a 3-2 vote was enough to be successful, instead of continuing on to win as they had. I suspect that a considerable amount of games have been won when 3 of the team wanted to surrender earlier on before the game turned around.

I certainly know that many of my games were nearly foiled by players that just wanted a higher quantity of easy games played rather than quality challenges. I also know I've won games that I shouldn't have because the enemy quit.

I watched my roommate play 5 matches yesterday : to put it in context she never started a surrender vote but I have seen her vote both ways depending on the situation. And yesterday I saw more people trying to quit then ever. 3 out of 5 games.

1st game: I'm not even sure why they tried it about even at the time and they went on to win fairly easily.

2nd: This was a lost cause and they surrendered about 1 min. before losing...why bother? but whatever right.

3rd: more interesting this one...Lee Sin missed 1st gank at lvl 2 but doesn't die here..goes into jungle and dies to enemy trying to do golems. He tells everyone he is done and the game is lost tries to ff the vote is 1/4. The enemy starts winning hard and takes everything but the inhib. Then they start goofing off and Garen says in all chat "lets just get some free kills". Another vote is 3/2. my friend votes quit in this one. Game goes on and they make a huge comeback..Lee did Not stop trying and ended up having a decent game (for all his bitching). The odd thing is though after 40 mins. or so off a great comeback someone else throws up a ff and it 1/4..So my friends team wins and life is just :)

TL:DR- About your idea, I wouldn't mind seeing the results if they did this. Sorry went a bit off topic there :)

I say no because surrendering is more than just win or lose, I've been in plenty of games with a 3-2 fail then we end up winning but if we had surrendered i wouldn't have had to deal with that toxic person or that afker

It's better to just move on and play another round than force the majority to play when they don't want to.

I usually respect the team's choice unless it's a ranked game (I vote the last to see how many people want to surrender, and click yes if there's already 3.) Because even there's a big chance we can win, a 3-2 surrender vote indicates teammates are burdened by the game and don't want to continue. It's a game and if we're not having fun, it's okay to just end it there.
